  • I guess facebook is following google plus and google plus following facebook.
Facebook trying to replicate google+’s verified business pages and google + on the other hand trying to copy the two column design of facebook.

however, whatever it is it the end user (individuals/businesses) that is getting advantages. I hope we continue to see these kinds of improvements from both the platforms.

Cindy great weekly round up, I love the chirpify site, this opens up some doors for my clients that have items for sale. Seems like a great place to set up accounts for my clients and add to their marketing strategies. Thanks again!

Verifying accounts and providing consumer confidence isn’t exactly new, so I think it’s more prioritizing based on demand rather than following a strategy.

I wonder if the timing is a bit of a PR move, too. Facebook is coming under a lot of heat for these “hate” pages, and I’ve actually seen a LOT of fake accounts lately on fb. They’ve always been really good about taking down pages that infringe trademarks, whereas Twitter (who has had verified accounts) takes forever.
I wonder what this will do to clamp down on impostors. I haven’t seen many fake accounts with lots of fans or engagement, so I wonder if it can really add value.

Anyway, Cindy, thanks for another great roundup! Chirpify seems like it could get big, but I hadn’t heard of it before now.

btw, G+ just redesigned its page into responsive design, so I can’t say they’re following the static, two-column Facebook approach.

I’m very excited how long we will have Facebook. I don’t see Facebook as a social network for the future. Sure at this time billion of people use Facebook but only because all their friends have Facebook. If my friends don’t use Facebook I would not use Facebook and when you analyse the user statistics you will see that more and more young people change to other social networks.

Chirpy has taken social commerce to another
level. It is now easier and faster to buy, sell, and pay for things
online. Now friends and family members can purchase holiday, birthday,
and just because gifts to share on multiple social media platforms with a
simple comment. But, what happened to “snail-mail” and packaged gifts
with pretty ribbon? Curious to see how Facebook’s launch of Verified
Pages and Profiles will benefit Facebook users in the long run. Currently
Twitter already has this feature, and this implementation by Facebook is only a
mirror reflection of what has already been created.
