  • Congratulations to everyone! The top 10 will serve as inspiration to us bloggers as their site including your site gives us ideas, tips and information that would help us become better bloggers.
  • There is really a good blog, you have your idea to build a webpages. You've lost so much time to research and write a whole blog so perfect, there is no reason what I am not into reading. Your idea is very good. Thank for your sharing information in this blog
  • dewywilliam
We should thank you for giving such a wonderful blog. Your site
happens to be not only informative but also very imaginative too. We
find a limited number of experts who can think to write technical
articles that creatively. All of us are on the lookout for information
on something like this. I Myself have gone through several blogs to
build up on knowledge about this.We look forward to the next posts !!

    Have any Question
  • Chris Brogan: The Elvis of social media and the king of common sense, Chris Brogan is in a league of his own
I don't know if he is ELvis of social media but I like his blog a lot. I would have voted for Mashable for the second place :) Best, Lynn from wedge boots
  • I run social media blog too. maybe need 100 year, to achieve the top ranking.
  • If someone had made this observation already I apologize, but I cant help but notice how this list serves the blogging community and for that I thank you...I will def check out these blogs...but I think there is a deeper lesson to be learned here, right?

You want a chance to have a link to your website on a leader-of-the-pack website? Set up a panel of "experts" and award them with something-rather...praise them profusely and perhaps they will brag about it on their blog and link to yours....nicely done SME...we can all learn from this. Not hating...just observing and learning.
  • Rebecca Aguilar
To be honest I have no idea how I landed on this site, but thank you so much for the list of top notch bloggers. Very informative! Keep up the good work!
  • Nice list, surprised not to see Mitch Joel's Six Pixels of Separation on there.
  • This is a terrific list of truly inspiring marketers, including the judges. Congratulations!
  • I feel like the judges have been reading my mind. These are the blogs I frequent the most, as well. But I wouldn't equate Chris Brogan with Elvis. The King has left the building. Chris is very much still performing.
  • Awesome post. I had only idea about mashable. I'll use rest of the site for bookmarking. Thanks for everything.

    @OMTMagazine
  • I have subscribed to Mashable, but I'm kinda tired with the vast amount of posts every day.
Chris Borgan surely is someone to follow / read, will subscribe to some other blogs I didn't know yet. Cheers!
  • Outstanding choices. Very happy to see Arizona represented so well by @jaybaer (Convince & Convert) and @kikolani (Kikolani). They are good peeps.
  • Great list..I really enjoyed reading it. I know a couple of these bloggers but the rest were a pleasant discovery. Keep up the good work and congratulations to the winners!!
  • Hey Michael, Thanks for sharing this list.Congrats to all the winners. I will surely look for the remaining winners that i missed out.
  • Thanks for the inclusion Michael - honored to be included amongst a list of such smart professionals.
  • Great list! You might also want to check out http://www.searchenginejournal.com. There are an abundance of informative social media content over there.
  • iancleary
Oh no, now I have a few more blogs that I have to read!!! ...seriously thanks for the list, a couple of additional ones I haven't followed before.
    Ian
  • Congrats to all the winners! Happy to see the blog I nominated is on the list. Yet they are all winners and all on my regular reading list. Mike thanks for bringing these amazing bloggers to the attention of new readers.
  • The list has some dinosaurs on it but I see @ #9 someone that writes her own stuff is always Fresh not the same old ad pitch remix and refried and isn't in it to just Brag about what she is doing and companies she found to sucker :) That list reflects the OLD buddy system it's 2010 out with the old and in with the new. People that Really engage people not just themselves 24/7
I was actually surprised how many people came by to say thanks You must be in pretty good with them ;)
Save that list because it will be changing People are getting HIP to real value vs HYPE and Smoke
    Nice blog :)
  • Mike: Great contest! These blogs are all worthy of making this list. Each have great content and insight. Thanks for sharing!
  • Congratulations to you all! You are the life blood of our profession. You give us inspiration, make us laugh and cry, bully us to move forward. To those of you who are new to me I'll be on the blogs tomorrow. Look forward to learning from you all.

To Chris Brogan, thanks for all the motivation you give and the information that you share so freely. You're my daily dose of fresh air and inspiration.
  • Congrats to the winners. Serving as a judge was a challenge -- there are so many amazing blogs out there!
  • I am so honored to be included in this list with so many great social media bloggers. Thank you to everyone who suggested my site in the beginning and judged it to be good enough to be in the top 10!
  • Congratulations Kristi, you have done a great job! I have good news for you as well, you are the winner of "Famous Commenter" contest this month on FamousBloggers :)
  • Congratulations Kristi, you deserve it because you've been doing a lot effort on web 2.0 social media :)
  • The folks who made it on this list have the chops to always provide stellar, unique and pithy perspectives with them. It's also nice to see a few fresh folks on the list, too.

"We all can't be Brogan" - but the folks on this list are.

I do have one concern though - it's important to always put your individual thoughts down instead of echoing what others say around you. This is what happened with TechCrunch and Mashable and it kind of overpowers the individual voice out there. I love all the content and the perspectives from all these bloggers.

Keep it up. I'll keep reading. :)
  • Great bloggers and information. Thanks for compiling such a great list. Love your blog too. One of my favorites is Melissa Giovagnoli http://www.networldingblog.com/
  • sonal
this only confirms I am following the right people! Great going u guys!
  • Delighted and honored to be in such great company, and to echo Falls' comments, it's even better because it wasn't robot-derived, it was human-assessed.

On a personal note, huge thanks to Jason for being the first blogger of note to ever promote my work. And to Chris Brogan for being second. And to Amber for never losing faith in me. And to Olivier for keeping me on my toes. And to Scott for being my second ever twitter20.com interview, and to Ann for giving me countless opportunities. And to Mike and the SME(2) team for letting me be part of their gang.

Considering 18 months ago I'd never written a blog post, I'm thrilled that my quest of dominating Jason Falls is almost complete. But, I remember all-too-clearly how it feels to be writing what you believe to be good content, and nobody but your Mom reading it.

In social media, everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student. Nobody has it all figured out, and nobody is going to. There are literally thousands of blogs out there publishing worthwhile, invigorating content about the social Web and its impact. So, while it's fantastic to make this list, I encourage Mike and SME(2) to create a new one next time called The Top 100 Social Media Blogs you probably don't read.

Let's commit to spending our energies promoting people that need to be discovered, and less on those that already have been.
  • Chris Brogan and Toby (Diva Marketing) are a couple of my favorites. I recently started reading Copyblogger which is also great. I'll have to check out the others.
  • bhartzer
Congrats to all the winners. I'm glad I already have all of them in my RSS reader.
  • Geez Brogan, at least I only ridicule you on Twitter. Personal foul in the comment section! ;-)
  • brett
Excellent list. Need to add several of these to my bookmarks. Let me also recommend thesocialpath.com by David Griner. He's the social media planner at Luckie and Co in Birmingham.
  • I think I was robbed! I was shooting for #7! What the hell? Who put this thing on? I want a recount!

And thank you so very much. Except for the Copyblogger guy, I think you've made some amazing choices. : )
  • Great list - I've been reading some of these blogs back before social media was cool!
  • Thanks to the esteemed judges and to Mike for the honor. And congrats to everyone who made the list! I also agree with Jason, there are a lot of other people who could have been honored here. Such is the way of the list.
  • SS
Congratulations to everyone! Great job! I was just excited to be nominated in the Top 20! I look forward to reading the one's I am not as familiar with in 2010 as well.
  • I have to disagree with Jason. I love lists. I make them everday for things to do and things to read. And lucky for me, there are several on here I've been crossing off daily. Great list, Michael. Thanks for posting.
  • Thanks Michael. And Ann, Scott and David. This is an honor for two reasons ... we were nominated by readers of Examiner, which has quickly become a great resource for smart people, and the three judges are truly people I admire and respect in the business.

Frankly, I hate lists and rankings most of the time because blogging is not a competition. I read all nine of the blogs listed outside of mine. I read a ton others. I read Ann, Scott and David's blogs. I read Examiner. And they're all fantastic. No one is better than the other.

But I understand the link-bait and conversation the ratings and rankings can spark and, at worst, it spreads the word to people who don't know some of these blogs to more people, so thank you for doing it and thank you all for considering SME (the real SME, by the way ... Mike ain't stealin' my initial branding! Heh!) in this.
  • ramonabrunswick
Jason I like you very much. You get the idea of everything always turning into a competition. People trying to out do one another versus working together as a society. It was a pleasure reading your comment.
  • Thank you, Ramona. I appreciate you saying so.
  • tobybloomberg
wow! I thank the judges, the community, my mum, dad and sister, my 5th grade teacher and of course my dog Max. Seriously I appreciate the honor of being part of the Social Media Examiner’s Top 10 Social Media Blogs for 2010. Oh how did I find out .. through @jasonfall 's tweet .. somehow that seems totally appropriate!
  • Congratulations everyone! What a great list you have here. I have the pleasure of following most but I have added a few others to my must read list. Thanks again everyone for being so gosh darn smart and good looking ;)
  • Amanda I love your contributions on Seo Visions and your hot:)
