Facebook Launches Clickable Hashtags: Clickable hashtags are rolling out on Facebook. “When you click on a hashtag in Facebook, you’ll see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or topic.”

"Similar to other services like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr or Pinterest, hashtags on Facebook allow you to add context to a post or indicate that it is part of a larger discussion."

Facebook Streamlines Ad Offering: Facebook says they plan to “streamline the number of ad units from 27 to fewer than half of that” while mapping all of their ads to “the business objectives marketers care about—be it in-store sales, online conversions, app installs, etc.”

Facebook will eliminate redundant ads. "This includes removing the Questions product for Pages because marketers can simply ask a question in a post and get answers in comments."

Facebook Launches Verified Pages and Profiles: The new verified Pages are “to help people find the authentic accounts of celebrities and other high-profile people and businesses on Facebook.” This is also rolling out to profiles as well.

Twitter Introduces Lead Generation “Cards”: The Lead Generation Card is “a new type of Twitter Card that will allow marketers to collect leads directly within the tweet.” For now, this is only available as a feature in Promoted Tweets—a paid feature of Twitter Ads.

"Users don’t even have to fill out a form—since their information (name, email and username) is already pulled into the card. They literally just have to hit Submit on the Card's call to action."

YouTube Launches Paid Channels: YouTube Paid Channels is “a pilot program for a small group of partners that will offer paid channels on YouTube with subscription fees starting at $0.99 per month. Every channel has a 14-day free trial, and many offer discounted yearly rates.” YouTube will be rolling Paid Channels out more broadly in the coming weeks as a self-service feature for qualifying partners.

LinkedIn Introduces Visual Profiles: “For the first time, you will now have the ability to showcase your unique professional story using rich, visual content on your LinkedIn profile. This means you can illustrate your greatest achievements in the form of stunning images, compelling videos, innovative presentations and more.” This new feature is rolling out now to LinkedIn members in English-speaking countries.

"To begin sharing your achievements and creations on your profile, simply select Edit on your profile, then follow the prompts in your Summary, Experience and Education sections."
