Facebook Adds Like Button to Apps: Facebook recently announced they are giving more control to people when sharing from apps. This includes a new mobile Like button for apps. “Try out the mobile Like button, the beta version of which is available for iOS now.”

A broader rollout of the mobile Like button, including Android availability, is planned soon.

Facebook Allows Restaurants to Display Menus on Pages: It’s now “easier for restaurants worldwide to display one of their most important assets directly on their Facebook Page — their menus.”

“In the US or Canada, restaurant Pages can now upload menus through SinglePlatform from Constant Contact, an online listings service that helps local businesses connect and engage with consumers by showcasing menus, products and services, photos, specials and more.”

  • Hi Cindy. You have about 1000 shares of this article. only 126 on Facebook. How many readers will read this? 10000? 20000? 40000? Just curious. We really don’t share much of what we consume and this won’t change it. Every app already allows very easy sharing on social networks even though Apple IOS kind of sucks for social they make it very hard because they don’t include options for Hootsuite etc so maybe that is why facebook wanted this. But reality most content will see 0.1% of less shares as a % of views. So I don’t see this very noteworthy. Just like the new Brand Page facelift. Not sure why the social media news finds things that are a big yawner as news worthy.

  • Hi Howie, I’m not sure I follow all of your comment, but I simply share the social media news that comes out every week. Some weeks there’s more news than others. And some news will interest some people more than others.
