Wish you could take a video and easily create lots of content that works across mediums? Looking for tools that are proven to work?
In this article, you'll discover how to repurpose video into articles, podcasts, and more using AI.
Why Use AI Tools in Content Production?
Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) tools for video repurposing can significantly streamline your content creation process, allowing you to produce high-quality, multi-format content more efficiently than ever.
As you embark on your AI-assisted content repurposing journey, remember to approach these tools as powerful aids rather than complete solutions. While AI can generate impressive results, reviewing and refining the output is essential to ensure it aligns with your brand voice, style, and messaging.
Pro Tip: When searching for AI tools to assist with a specific content creation task, check out Future Tools. This site curates over 3K AI tools, making it a comprehensive resource for discovering the latest and most effective applications for your needs. The site also features an AI news section, updating you on the latest AI developments and trends.
The following tools will help you repurpose video content into blog posts, images, audio, and short-form content that resonates with your target audience across multiple platforms.
#1: Turn Videos Into Blog Posts With AI
The first step in repurposing video content with AI tools is to get an audio transcript. You can use the automatically generated transcript from platforms like YouTube and Vimeo or a tool like Descript for a more accurate transcription. Keep in mind that YouTube and Vimeo may take a few hours to generate the transcript after you upload your video.
Pro Tip: You don't need to publish the video to create the transcript. To access the transcript on your YouTube channel, open YouTube Studio and locate the video. Open the video’s Details and click the ‘Subtitles’ box. Click the 3-dot icon next to ‘Edit as Text’ and select ‘Download Subtitles’. You'll need a premium account on Vimeo to access the transcription feature.
Next, paste the transcript into an AI writing tool like Claude or ChatGPT. Ask the AI to rewrite the content as a blog post and provide additional instructions, including headings, bullet points, and image suggestions.
You can also specify the tone and style you want the AI to use. For example, you might prompt the AI: “Please rewrite this transcript in the form of a blog post. Include headings, bullet points, and suggestions for images throughout the post. Write in a friendly, conversational tone and aim for an 8th-grade reading level.” The AI will generate a draft blog post you can edit and refine to match your style and voice.
When editing the AI-generated blog post, double-check any facts or figures mentioned, as AI can sometimes “hallucinate” information, meaning it might generate incorrect or nonsensical data. Also, ensure that the language and wording sound like your own voice. Remember, the AI is great at getting you 80% of the way there, but you'll still need to work to polish the final product.
In addition to creating an entire blog post, you can also use the AI-generated content to create social media posts, shorter articles, or summaries of your video content. Simply adjust the prompts you give to the AI to generate the desired format and length. For instance, you could ask the AI to “create a series of 5 tweets summarizing the video's main points” or “write a 200-word Facebook post highlighting the key takeaways from this interview.”
#2: Create Images for Blog Posts With AI
You can use AI image generation tools to add visual interest to your blog post. When prompting the AI to write your blog post, ask it to suggest where you should place images and what those images should be.
For instance, you could add to your prompt: “Please also suggest where images should be placed throughout the blog post and provide detailed descriptions of what each image should depict.”
Curious About How to Use AI?

The AI will generate image prompts that you can use to create the images in tools like DALL-E 3, Midjourney, or Stable Diffusion 3.
Wondering which image tool best fits your needs? Here are some quick details to help you narrow it down:
- DALL-E 3, available through ChatGPT or Bing Image Creator, generates images with multiple elements and details. For example, “a 3-headed dragon wearing a fedora, watching TV, eating nachos on a hot, sunny day with a window in the background.”
- ChatGPT will generate up to 10 images daily, while Bing Image Creator allows up to 100 images daily.
- Midjourney excels at creating more realistic-looking images but may not always include all the elements you specify. If you want a more realistic image from Midjourney, add the “–style raw” flag to your prompt. Keep in mind that Midjourney requires a paid subscription and currently operates through a Discord bot, though a web interface is in development.
- Stable Diffusion offers the most customization options but has a steeper learning curve, often requiring local installation and a compatible GPU.
When using these image generation tools, you can refine your results by providing more detailed prompts or using a built-in video editing tool, such as inpainting in DALL-E 3. This allows you to select specific parts of the image and regenerate or remove them without affecting the rest of the image.
For instance, if your generated image has an unwanted watermark or text, you can use inpainting to remove it while preserving the rest of the image. You can also use inpainting to change specific elements, like swapping out a person's clothing or altering the background.
Pro Tip: To ensure your images are optimized for your blog post, specify the desired aspect ratio in your prompt. For example, a 16:9 aspect ratio works well for featured images and YouTube thumbnails. If you're using Midjourney, you can add the “–ar 16:9” flag to your prompt to generate an image with the appropriate dimensions.
#3: Generate Audio From Your Blog Post With AI
Once you have your blog post, you can use a tool like ElevenLabs to generate an audio version of your content. ElevenLabs allows you to train an AI model with a sample of your voice, and then it can generate audio that sounds like you reading the blog post. The more audio you provide for training, the better the AI will capture your voice's nuances and inflections.
AI tools expert Matt Wolfe recommends providing at least 30 seconds to 2 minutes of audio for training, but the more, the better. You can even use multiple audio files to give the AI a more comprehensive understanding of your voice. For the best results, try to provide diverse audio samples that capture different emotions, speaking styles, and content types.

GET THE DETAILSTo create the audio, simply paste your blog post text into ElevenLabs, and the AI will generate an MP3 file that sounds like you speaking. You can adjust settings like voice inflection and speed to fine-tune the output. For example, if the AI speaks in a monotone voice, you can adjust the slider to add more variation and animation.
You can embed this audio into your blog post or use it as a podcast episode, making your content more accessible to a wider audience.
ElevenLabs also offers translation capabilities, allowing you to generate audio versions of your content in multiple languages while maintaining your voice's characteristics. So, if you want to reach a Spanish-speaking audience, you can have ElevenLabs generate a Spanish version of your blog post audio that still sounds like you speaking. This feature allows you to expand your reach and cater to diverse audiences without needing separate recordings or voice actors.
When using AI-generated audio, listening to the output carefully and making any necessary adjustments is essential. While the AI is generally quite accurate, it may occasionally emphasize the wrong words or struggle with proper nouns. Take the time to review the audio and provide feedback to the AI to improve future generations.
#4: Create Short Videos for Social Media Platforms With AI
Tools like Opus Clip can help you identify the best snippets from your long-form videos to create short-form content for social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The AI analyzes your video and suggests short clips that would work well as standalone content, ranked by their potential engagement.
This can save you significant time editing and choosing the most impactful moments from your videos. However, reviewing the AI-suggested clips is still important to ensure they make sense and align with your intended message. You may need to make some adjustments, such as trimming clips or adding transitions, to create a polished final product.
For example, if you have a 30-minute video interview, Opus Clip can help you quickly identify the most engaging or informative 60-second segments you can repurpose into short-form content.
This allows you to create multiple pieces of content from a single video, maximizing your content's reach and impact.
When creating short-form video content, consider the specific platform you're targeting. Each platform has its own best practices and trends, so tailor your content accordingly. For instance, TikTok favors vertical video and trending sounds, while YouTube Shorts often feature more educational or entertaining content. Use Opus Clip's suggestions as a starting point, but don't be afraid to experiment and add your own creative touch to make your content stand out.
#5: Create Music and Sound Effects With AI
To enhance your videos and podcasts, you can use AI-generated music and sound effects. Tools like Suno and Udio allow you to create custom music tracks based on your preferences, with or without vocals. Simply describe the style, mood, and genre you're looking for, and the AI will generate a unique track that fits your needs.
For example, using Suno, Matt created a meme song with the prompt, “Make me an early 2000s punk anthem about why I should attend Social Media Marketing World.” Based on that prompt, the AI generated a complete song, including lyrics and music.
You can also use these tools to create background music for your videos or podcasts by selecting the “no vocals” option and specifying the desired mood and style, such as “cinematic and energetic background music for an action scene.”
When comparing Suno and Udio, Matt notes that Suno's AI-generated vocals are more noticeable, but the platform tends to create catchier, more memorable tunes. Udio, on the other hand, produces highly realistic vocals that are difficult to distinguish from human singers, but the overall compositions may not be as earworm-worthy.
Experiment with both tools to find the one that best suits your needs and preferences.
For sound effects, ElevenLabs offers a wide range of options that you can easily incorporate into your content. You can find the perfect audio elements to enhance your videos or podcasts, from ambient sounds to specific effects like explosions or animal noises. Simply type in the desired sound effect, like “ambulance siren” or “dog barking,” and ElevenLabs will generate a realistic AI-created sound that you can download and use in your projects.
Pro Tip: When using AI-generated music and sound effects, remember that while they sound incredibly realistic, there may be subtle differences from human-created audio. Listen carefully and choose tracks that best fit your content's tone and style. Additionally, be aware of licensing or attribution requirements when using AI-generated audio in your content.
#6: Create Infographics With AI
Beyond the tools mentioned above, numerous other AI-powered applications can help you create engaging content more efficiently.
For example, Infography is a tool that can generate infographics based on your blog post's content. Simply upload or link to your blog post, and the AI will analyze the text and create visually appealing infographics to complement your content.
