Influencers Know the ‘Sponsored Social’ Game Better Than Marketers: Izea’s fifth annual “State of Sponsored Social” report created in collaboration with research firm Halverson Group found that sponsored social is now the second most common digital marketing tool behind only the trusted display ad.
B2B Content Marketing: Executive and Brand Perspectives, Compared: A recent study from the Economist Group developed in association with Peppercomm reveals the stark disconnect between what B2B audiences want and what content marketers are providing is stark in terms of substance versus marketing.
Job Seekers Turn to Facebook, But Recruiters Still Favor LinkedIn: Jobvite’s seventh annual Social Recruiting Survey found that while Facebook is popular with job seekers (86%), LinkedIn is still the social network of choice for recruiters (94%). This is compared with only 66% for Facebook. Another interesting insight: 93% percent of recruiters surveyed review candidates’ social media profiles before making decisions. 55% of those have reconsidered candidates based on their social media profiles, with 61% of those reconsiderations being negative.
Content Marketing: Showcasing Original Content for Recruiting Platform Lifts Social Engagement 61.2%: This case study featured Talentsquare’s move from sharing articles on their company blog to creating more original content directly highlighting their brand voice and expertise. As a result, overall social engagement via likes, comments, shares and clicks to Talentsquare’s company blog posts have increased 61.2%.
Instagram Grows As Teens’ Social Network of Choice Over Facebook: The latest semi-annual report by Piper Jaffray find that American teens are gravitating towards Instragram and Twitter over Facebook. Roughly three-quarters of respondents reported using the visual platform, up from 69% in the previous survey. By comparison, only 45% said they use Facebook, a significant drop from 72% in previous study this past Spring 2014.
