Tips for Attending

Social Media Marketing World is a busy and exciting event. A little pre-planning goes a long way. Below are some details to keep in mind to make your conference experience run smoothly.

When You Arrive

Check-in: Enter the first floor of the San Diego Convention Center (outside of Hall D) on Wednesday, March 20, starting at 9am. Registration will remain open until 8pm and will reopen on Thursday, March 21, at 6:30am. You’ll receive your name badge and Social Media Marketing World program guide with detailed session descriptions, agenda and maps.

Name badge: Keep your badge with you at all times to access the event. All-access badges and wristbands are required to attend parties, workshops and sessions. Marketer Ticket badges and wristbands allow access to keynotes, sessions, and the Networking Plaza.  Community badges allow access to keynotes and the Networking Plaza.

Don’t like waiting in lines? Make sure your user profile is up-to-date so you can speed through the line at registration. Simply click here and login.

Manage Your Registration Profile

Need to change what will appear on your registration badge? No problem. Click here to log in to your profile page to add your company name or change your contact details. Changes made after March 1, 2019, will not be reflected on your name badge.

If you have forgotten your registration password, look for the “Lost password” box to have the system reset your password.

Meal Planning

Food is available for purchase at the San Diego Convention Center on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday starting at 9am. Check out this page for more information on what food is available for purchase.

For All-Access Ticket Holders, the evening events will provide dessert and snacks, but you should plan to grab dinner on your own.

On Wednesday, you can plan to grab dinner either before or after the evening party, depending on whether you are attending the workshops.

On Thursday, plan to grab dinner before the Parq Totally Awesome 80's party.

Lunch Table Talks: On Thursday and Friday during the lunch break, all attendees can take advantage of our structured networking opportunities in the Networking Plaza.

MeetUp & EatUp: When planning dinners, you are on your own to eat at one of the great restaurants surrounding the convention center. Join a MeetUp & EatUp to meet some new people.

Need Help Making Dinner Plans? Visit the concierge at your hotel or the San Diego Convention Center. You can also utilize Open Table (change the parameters based on your party’s size). You’re looking for restaurants use this address: 111 W. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.

What to Wear

The conference and all networking events are business casual. Bring a jacket or sweater for the evening parties as the temperatures do drop after sunset. Be sure to bring good walking shoes since the convention center is over 330 yards (300 meters) from one end of our location to the other.   

What to Pack

Bring spare chargers for your devices and a bag for carrying around your computer, tablet and any other items you want with you throughout the day. International travelers should check our other travel tips here.

Amenities

The convention center has facilities for nursing mothers and is handicap equipped. Visit this page to get details about what the facility provides.

Event Merchandise

Get Your Event T-shirt: You can purchase your Social Media Marketing World T-Shirt at Social Media Marketing World 2019 in the Networking Plaza. Available in Men and Women cuts.

All-Access Recordings

The All-Access conference ticket includes access to all the keynote, workshop and session recordings. You have access to the recordings for 18 months from your ticket purchase date. Recordings become available after the conference ends and all will be posted within two weeks.

Don't have an All-Access ticket? Change your Marketer or Community ticket by contacting us at [email protected].

After the conference go here and login with user ID/email and password that you used when you registered to access the recordings and slides. We will email you once the recordings are being uploaded as well as a reminder. Note: Forgot your password? No problem. Just follow the “Lost Password” prompts.
