social media how toAre you using videos to market your business? Are you wondering how to get started?

Do you need some ideas to improve your videos?

We asked our writers to share their best tips on how to make video marketing easy for you.

How to Get Started Creating Videos

Chris Garrett @ChrisGarrett

#1: Try video now

My biggest tip is to try video out, see if it works for you. I resisted video for so long due to my shyness, but when I did put some videos out there my audience reacted so warmly (and forgiving of my goofs) that I wish I had tried sooner.

You don’t need professional gear, expert editing skills and software, and you don’t need a fancy script. You don’t even need to be super-confident in front of the camera.

social media how toAre you on YouTube? Are you getting the results you hoped for?

In this article I’ll share 8 actionable tips to enhance your YouTube marketing.

Why YouTube?

The most recent statistics on online video and YouTube are mind-blowing: Nielsen reported that Americans streamed 15 billion videos in the most recently recorded month (May 2011). While traditional TV viewing was up only 0.2% over last year, Internet video viewing was up 35% and mobile video viewing went up 20%.

Before you throw all your marketing dollars into YouTube, however, you might want to consider this other statistic: 35 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube… every minute. 5 Steps to Achieving Success With Video Marketing

social media how toHave you been considering taking on video marketing in a larger way this year? If you’re looking to add video to your content offerings, this article is for you.

The following tips will help you understand how to get started with video.

#1: Select Your Video Marketer

A successful web video is personality-driven. Find someone who comes across as the most “social” on camera. Weigh in expertise, authenticity, personality and familiarity (with the audience). Look at his or her ability to be concise and clear, schedule and availability (to create and engage) and how well he or she can use social networking tools. The person should also be able to produce, publish and do social media optimization with video.

If you have the resources, hire more than one and you can assign different duties to different people and make up a new “video marketing team.”

How to Grow Your Business With Live Video Broadcasts

social media book reviewsThree 30-something guys are surfing The Long Tail and demolishing the boundaries of traditional television broadcasting along the way.

Adam Quirk, Erik Nelson, and Aaron Valdez are the sole employees of Wreck & Salvage LLC. In addition to making customized videos for clients, they create a monthly, hour-long online video show called Tricorn.

But you won’t find them out on the town, shooting original videos of breaking news stories. They do that occasionally, but they are primarily “remixers” who take snips of existing videos and splice them together to create a mashup. And they broadcast many of these mashups on their show, streamed live on Livestream.

Social Media Smackdown: WWE Headlocks Social Media

social media case studiesThink you know what World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is all about? You might be surprised to read about WWE’s emerging social media story.

But first, it’s easy to pigeonhole WWE as fringe cable channel with a small group of die-hard fans, but you likely don’t know all the facts…

WWE.com outperformed ABC.com, CBS.com, NBC.com, NASCAR.com, PerezHilton.com, NHL.com and UFC.com. More people attended Wrestlemania XXVI than the Super Bowl, held in the same stadium.

“WWE” ranked #3 for most searches on Yahoo! in 2009, behind only Michael Jackson and Twilight. (As I write this, WWE is the top-trending search term on Yahoo!) And WWE.com has more than 14 million average monthly unique visitors worldwide.

More significantly, WWE’s own social networking site has 610,000 registered users who participate in forums, comment on blogs, and consume the millions of photos and videos that WWE updates continuously.
