5 Mobile Video Apps to Boost Online Engagement

social media toolsDo you want to use videos to market your business?

Are you wondering if there are simple mobile apps to make this possible?

In this article I’ll review five mobile video apps and share how they can boost your online engagement.

Why Mobile Video?

Vine, Twitter’s mobile video app, has business and marketing professionals considering the numerous ways video apps can be used to increase engagement.

Ekaterina Walter, social innovator at Intel and author of Think Like Zuck, recently predicted that “2013 will be the year of visual marketing”. Walter based this prediction, in part, on the fact that “…visuals and video done right are highly effective in cutting through the noise.”

This prediction has already proven true with a burst of new video apps and upgrades hitting the market. And some of these offer unique opportunities for savvy marketers.

16 Ways Businesses Are Using Twitter Vine

social media tools

Are you wondering how the new Twitter Vine (think ultra short videos) could work for your business?

Vine is a new mobile app that allows you to capture life from your mobile device in short, six-second looping videos.

You can share these short videos with your Twitter followers and Facebook friends.

Think of it as Instagram, except with videos instead of pictures.

In today’s post, I’ll show you some creative uses of Vine for business.

Editor’s note: You can click on any video to pause it.

#1: Engage Your Followers in Conversation

Start a conversation with your followers using a Vine video.

Simon & Schuster does this by not just asking what followers will be reading this weekend—they give them visual cues on what they could be reading.

It could spark any reader to go to their local bookstore or order a new title online. Hence this update is great for engagement and sales.

How to Generate Leads With Video Marketing

social media how toDo you want to attract high-quality leads with social media?

<video onload=>

Many business owners see a drop-off in new leads because they stop thinking strategically about conversions.

One way to enhance your social media marketing is to create a short, shareable social video—and implement a strategic “mini-campaign” around it to drive opt-ins.

In this article I’ll show 3 ways to supercharge your social media marketing with video.

#1: Create a Short Social Video

Converting social media fans into actual customers starts with getting fans off your social platforms and onto your email list.

First, you must move your fans from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest onto your landing page.

Use a short social video. Videos are quick, they’re visual, they’re personal, they work like gangbusters across multiple platforms and they’re very share-worthy!

3 Ways Sharpie is Engaging Teens With Social Media

social media case studiesAre you wondering how to connect with the younger generation on social media?

Could your business benefit from connecting to the 80% of online teens using social media?

In this article I explore how Sharpie has successfully garnered 89% market share with the aid of social media.

The Teen Market

Instagram is now the most popular photo-sharing site among teens age 12-17. One million of them visited the site last July alone.

Add to that the 93% of social media–using teens who have a Facebook account (according to Pew Internet research), and the 16% who use Twitter (a figure that has doubled in recent years), and you’ve got a lot of teenage eyeballs.

But to connect with a teen target market, you must do more than simply have a presence on the sites they use. You must also pay attention to what motivates and inspires them.

Take some tips from permanent marker manufacturer Sharpie. Their successful 2012 Back to School campaign helped grow their market share to 89% of their category through a savvy understanding of how teens use social media.

How to Triple Your YouTube Video Views With Facebook

social media how toDo you want more people to watch your YouTube videos?

Are you looking for an easy way to improve the quality of the content you share on Facebook?

All you need is some great content and a cool Facebook technique that I recently discovered.

A Quick Overview

This technique lets you automatically attach your videos to the updates that appear on Facebook after someone likes content on your website.

By leveraging Facebook’s Open Graph and using this technique, I’ve seen phenomenal results!

I shared this tactic with a brand operating in the travel industry and they generated more than one million aggregated views of their product videos on YouTube (and significant website traffic) in a matter of weeks.

marmara open graph exposure

By integrating this Open Graph tactic, Marmara, a French travel company, generated 93K likes on its website, which in turn generated 13 million impressions of their videos in the Facebook newsfeed! Not to mention the 16K clicks they got back to their website. All in just 2 weeks and for free.
