With new enhancements from Google+, you can more easily accomplish just that!
One of the biggest changes recently rolled out by Google might even be called a seismic shift in search.
Google is somewhat clumsily calling it “Search, plus Your World.” You see, Google has years of experience in the search engine business. And they are so good because they aim to deliver what people are looking for, not just what they actually enter into the search window. They have to figure out if your search on “porter” is supposed to show a lot of beer websites or websites focusing on people who carry luggage.
Part of what they’ve learned is that people want to see results based on their own personal history and social profile.
Google’s Search, Plus Your World
Since the introduction of Google+, Google has been redefining how it can provide more relevant search results.
Recently Google introduced Search, Plus Your World, something I’ll call Google social search.
This new enhancement has made it essential to have a Google+ profile and/or Google+ business page.
Why? Google is highlighting Google+ content in search results.
This article will share three tips you need to know to benefit from Google social search.
By the way, if you haven’t already done so, create a Google+ page for your business. Fill out all the sections with images and top focus keywords you want to rank for in search.
Google+ is growing at an impressive rate. In less than one year, Google has reached over 90 million registered users—far exceeding expected growth rates.
There’s No Leap of Faith With Google+
You already know Google is important to your business. Just check your analytics. Which search engine are people using to find your website? Google. And if you’re using YouTube effectively, chances are YouTube is driving traffic to your site too. News flash: Google owns YouTube.
Have you created a Google+ page for your business? In this article I’ll show you what three top pages are doing.
Still in its infancy, Google+ has become a very hot topic.
Amid concern that this “new kid on the block” couldn’t compete in a social media landscape owned by Facebook, some have opted to dismiss the platform entirely.
While Google+ and Google+ business pages are still in the early stages, there is growing evidence that they’re here to stay.
We asked 12 experienced social media professionals to share their best tips on Google+ for business with you.
Here are 12 ways you can use Google+ to promote and market your business.
#1: Personalize your page URL
Carly Simon’s 70′s hit “You’re So Vain” gave vanity a bad name. But using a so-called “vanity URL” can be a smart move when it comes to your online presence.
While Facebook allows page owners to create vanity URLs of the structure facebook.com/YourName, Google does not currently do the same.
By default, Google+ page URLs look like this: https://plus.google.com/103145815507039304597/posts. It seems likely that at some point Google will allow for personalized page URLs, but until they do, there is a service that can help.
I interviewed Jesse Stay, author of the brand-new book Google+ for Dummies, Portable Edition. Jesse has also written three more books about Facebook, including Facebook Application Development for Dummies.
In this interview we talked about Google+, why it’s different and what it means to businesses. We also talked about the mobile side of Google+, where Google might be headed and much more.
In this article I show you how to set up your Google+ page and provide examples.
If you haven’t already created a personal Google+ profile for yourself, you’ll need to do that first (you cannot simply sign up a business page from the main Google+ signup screen).
