What Are Your Social Media Plans for 2010?

From the entire team at Social Media Examiner, we’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (be sure to check out the videos below)!

As December is coming to a close, you’re likely thinking about next year.  What are your hopes and plans for 2010 (on a personal or business level)?

I’d like to encourage an open discussion right here in the comment section.

Also, here’s a little video directly from the Stelzner household, wishing you a wonderful holiday season:

Also, the team over at Hubspot put this really cool holiday greeting together that I know you fellow bloggers will appreciate:

Now over to you… What are your social media plans for 2010?

  • I think that it is important to add variety to your blog, so I plan on incorporating video into my blogging in 2010. Thanks for providing variety within your blog.

I just finished creating my project plan for the New Year yesterday. Being a social media specialist, I am very attentive to my clients profiles and accounts, but I tend to neglect my own. That will change this year as one of my first tasks will be to study the material I received from FoVA 2009 by Jeannine Clontz and implement her marketing plan along with all the social media networks. I also have, on my list, things I would like to implement, as far as prescheduling, with my social media profiles.

My commitment to my blog has been refreshed and I will be using this platform on a more regular basis. I am looking forward to taking my profile to the next level, just like the rest of you social gurus!
  • 2010 Plans? Very simply to deepen the relationship I have with the people I meet through social media.

Hope 2010 brings us all smiles just like the one I had when watching both of these videos.
  • Hey Mike,
I love the blogging video - it's very inspiring specially for a new blogger like myself. So thank you for sharing such a thoughtful gift this Christmas :) Like Amy, I intend to be more dedicated to writing everyday - or better yet, i want to follow Denise's advice - she recommends to have a schedule - 3 days of blogging, and 2 days of commenting on other people's blogs - I'm not quite sure what she suggested to do on the weekends though :) but i would go for an even split. I also want to start developing a couple of short video blogs to make the mix more entertaining.
I would love to get your advice on "How to Make It better" - hey, that sounds like a nice blog topic ... :)
Have a very Merry Christmas (to you and your wonderful family)
  • Hey Mari,

Looking forward to see what 2010 has in store for you. Thanks for being part of the SME team.

    Mike
  • Yay, Mike!! Collaborating with you in 2009 was one of the *highlights* of my year!! I look forward to continuing our big projects in 2010!!!

For ISMA, huge plans in the works: virtual and live conventions, local chapters worldwide, collaborations, trainings and solid membership. For my biz, the sky's the limit - book(s), licensing, merchandising, infomercials, major speaking, world travel, huge JVs, celeb clients, and more! Plus branding & blog/site overhaul, and crank the blogging WAY up. hehe! :)

(SO excited to attend the Grammys Jan 31 & walk the red carpet - will be blogging about that for sure!!)

Cheers - and Merry Christmas back atcha! :) (Such an adorable wee video with your gals!)
  • Looking forward to seeing your 2010 projects unfold Mari. Be sure to let me know if you come to Paris.

    Cute girls!

LOVED the Hubspot video, gonna spread their caroling on my blog too. Funny thing happened to me yesterday Amy I wrote several blog posts and usually they are not my favorite thing. (You know the critical inner critic that I tap on daily reminding me I am not great at grammar, punctuation etc....)

Funny thing is that I was inspired and they just flowed.
  • Michael: LOVE the video of you and your sweet girls!

The Hubspot video rocks :-) And that video is perfect for my 2010 plans:

I am planning a 30-DAYS-OF-BLOGGING challenge for myself, beginning Jan 1. Yep, I am doing it. (I hate the idea of New Year's Resolutions, but I love challenges!) One of my downfalls is blogging consistently and I cannot preach to my clients about the importance of showing up daily in the social media world if I am not walking the talk. So now that I put it out there (in this post!) for the world to see, I MUST do it. I might need some moral support from Denise Wakeman since she is a pro in this area!

Happy Holidays, Michael. THANK YOU for creating this fantastic site to learn more and build community.
  • Amy, I'll be routing for you and checking by to see how you're doing!

In 2008 I jumped in and blogged daily on 2 different blogs for the full 365 days. What helped me a lot was having a calendar right in front of me where I put up a little sticker as soon as I finished my daily post. I used a different color for each blog. I didn't plan on doing a daily post on both blogs, but the stickers looked so nice that I just kept going.

When your blog is at least a couple of months old, it's usually very easy to find a month's worth of blog post ideas just by checking out the phrases people used to search for you in Google.
  • Cindy! Are you serious?! 365 days with 2 blogs? I am AMAZED...and completely pumped to get going. I love your idea of the calendar with stickers...I am going to do that fore sure. THANK YOU for your advice...I really needed that.

And great tip on the Google search tracking...brilliant!
  • Merry Christmas Amy! Sounds like a great plan. You better get cracking on an editorial calendar now :)

Here at SocialMediaExaminer we have our blogging calender filled all the way to March...

Thanks for being part our community.
  • As you might imagine...loved the hubspot video!

My plans: more blogging and working on ways to further leverage my content through syndication on multiple platforms.
  • I thought you might love that one Denise! :)

    Smart plans my friend!
