A senior engineer by training and profession, I’m now a dedicated (as much as possible) jewelry designer and fabricator. I’m so in love with jewelry!
I’ve been doing crafts since a girl (and trust me, I’m no longer a “g-i-r-l” ;-) I used to be rather well known for my counted-thread embroidery. I won a national Best of Show in 1991 and became the founding president of a chapter of the Embroidery Guild of America (EGA) in West Virginia. I stitched at the request of the White House one year (1996) for the White House Christmas Tree; I was even invited to the unveiling of that tree. That piece (a nutcracker stocking) now resides in the Smithsonian (albeit, I’m sure it’s in the lowest basement or the top most attic.) But, I’ve never enjoyed any craft as much as I’m enjoying making jewelry pieces.
