As a partner in the Labor & Employment Group at Cleveland’s Kohrman Jackson & Krantz, I apply my 14 years’ experience to provide proactive and results-driven solutions to employers’ problems.

I concentrate my practice in the representation of companies in employment disputes. Complementing my litigation practice, I also serve an “outside in-house counsel” role for businesses, advising on a wide-range of day-to-day employment, HR, and labor-relations issues. My recent victories include defeating certification of a wage and hour class action.

I am the author of the nationally recognized and award winning Ohio Employer’s Law Blog (www.ohioemployerlawblog.com), which the ABA has commended as one of the top 100 legal blogs for 2010 and 2011. LexisNexis also named it one of the top 25 Labor & Employment Blogs for 2011. I parlayed my experience as an early adopter of social media to author the book Think Before You Click: Strategies for Managing Social Media in the Workplace, from Thompson Publishing, about which I was interviewed on a recent edition of WCPN’s The Sound of Ideas.

I serve as a frequent source for the local and national media on employment law issues, having been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, National Law Journal, Business Insurance Magazine, Crain’s Cleveland Business, and Inside Counsel. I also edit Business Management Daily’s Ohio HR Specialist. I also lend my expertise as a speaker on myriad employment law topics, most recently presenting multiple seminars on social media and employment law, and other presentations on the ADA, the FMLA, workplace technology, and harassment.

Super Lawyers named me an Ohio Rising Star in the area of Employment Law for 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

The HR Examiner named me one of the top 25 digital HR influencers for 2011.

I also appeared on a November 1999 episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but, sadly, did not have the fastest fingers.
