XeeMe: All your networks in one place (15 posts)

  • A friend in the know turned me on to this little gem.  http://xeeme.com/LisaPietsch/

I find XeeMe a great tool for 3 reasons:

    1. It is an excellent way to organize a complete list of all my social media networks both for myself and for people who want to follow me.

    2. It is ideal for those with extensive signature lines who want to include everything but run the risk of overwhelming.

    3. The back end provides amazing reports on traffic, relevance, connections, popularity, engagement and more.

Has anyone else used this tool?  What are your thoughts?  Do you find it helpful?

  • @lisapietsch Interesting service. I’ll follow the topic as I’m interested in others using XeeMe.

In this morning’s Washington Post, they highlighted a new mobile app called IMO. It keeps track of all you IM accounts, such as Facebook, Skype, Google Talk, etc. I really don’t IM anymore but I’d be interested in hearing about this one as well. IMO might work better with our association’s board members who are always on the go.

  • XeeMe isn’t an aggregator and isn’t so much a network as an organizational tool and a way to help others find you online.  I like having links to all of my networks in one place and I find the reports they offer help me to balance my networking efforts.

    As for IMO:

I use Outlook to collect the emails from all of my accounts and bring them to me.  I use Google Reader to collect all the blogs I want to follow and bring them to me.  I’m all for services that collect and deliver!

Though I’m not a huge fan of IMs, and find IM & SMS alerts disrupt my focus, I do realize IMs have their uses and some people really do use them a lot.

The IMO service looks very much like ICQ, which I used to use a great deal when IMing first began and everyone was on Yahoo, AOL and MSN Messenger.

IMO seems like an ideal aggregator for those who IM regularly.

  • @lisapietsch Thanks for the clarification. XeeMe would be useful if I was handling more than Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Having stats is a nice touch since we’re having to show results more often now.

IM was handy when I worked at gomembers where the sales team was spread across the country. I could get answers from them even if they were demo’ing the software. I haven’t really used it since then. I do use SMS more consistently with friends because it isn’t intrusive to me – or no more so than getting an email (my phone chirps if not muted).

  • If you’re only running three networks then XeeMe really isn’t necessary.  You can get statistics for those networks through Hubspot easily enough.

In my case, I have a Facebook profile, fan page and business page; LinkedIn personal & business profiles, two blogs, a magazine website, Google+, MySpace, an Amazon Author Page, Blip.fm and others so XeeMe was a Godsend!

  • @lisapietsch Have you ever used About.me? They seem to be very similar but About.me has a 7/10 page rank… so links from About.me are a touch bit better than links from Xeeme.com

  • @lisapietsch Yikes! I couldn’t keep track of all that. Glad XeeMe is helping out.

@amyhallbiz I have an About.me account (AOL company) but I haven’t really checked the statistics much. I just purchased a few domain names and will have them directed towards About.me eventually (long story – use Hover.com to buy your domain names). My named domains point towards my LinkedIn account (www.KristyCCartier.com/net).

  • Great tip, Amy.  I just watched the promo video.  Looks sleek.  I like that.  I’ll have to give it a test run this week.  Thanks!

  • Lisa, I never heard of xee.me, I want to check it out.@lisapietsch What do you mean 7/10 page? @amyhallbiz

  • I utilize Hootsuite for my clients.  Keeps the streams, schedules and there are excellent reports on link clicks if you use their shortner.

I will have to explore XeeMee and see if it works similarly. Always good to have options.

I tried Social Omph and Ping but neither really fit for our needs. I noticed some use Hubspot which is a fee base. Is it worth it?

  • @deairby That is the page rank that Google assigns to a website. If your site has a high PR and you link to many low PR sites to your site, your site may suffer. Conversely, the same is true for low PR sites with incoming links from high PR sites. So I always check out a sites PR rank.

FYI Social Media Examiner site has a PR of 7/10. :)

  • @kerisilk Did you see the Forum topic about HubSpot? If it fits in your budget, HubSpot sounded like a good investment (my summary of the conversation).

  • @amyhallbiz  It’s getting to be as insane as FICO scores! Even the credit reporting agencies are not sure how the scores are configured!

@kc_kreative, yes,  I will read through the forum topic. Thanks

  • Great shares in this thread! Thanks for the XeeMe info, Lisa. And the About.Me info, too, Miss Amy.

I had read this thread before, but didn’t comment. Then I met Annie Diamond (busy little bee, now on the LeaderBoard) and connected with her on Xee as well as her other profiled sites.

And that’s the thing that attracted me to XeeMe. It encourages you to build out all your profile info on various sites (I’m on many for various reasons), aggregating all YOUR info and bringing it to one place where you can make a convenient little embed to put on your site with ALL your info for visitors who want to connect with you wherever you are. Lately, the first thing I do when meeting someone is check out their Pinterest page, THEN go to their websites, etc. I learn more about a person on P than anywhere else. Just my preference…

And you’re right about all the time management, organizing, and other tools on XeeMe. The free ones are very useful to me so far.

If About.me is anything like XeeMe, I’m heading there right now…

    Robin Carlisle

  • Yes I have used it and find it very good. I have the url from Xeeme on my Twitter account so that followers can quickly check out all my other social media profiles and websites.
