Wordpress Plugin ”OptinSkin” (8 posts)

  • Hey Folks.

I wanted to bring your attention to a premium WP plugin – OptinSkin

I’m thinking about purchasing this one and wonder if anyone here uses it already.

I think it looks really good but am not a WP guru by any stretch of the imagination. We do have some pretty great Wordpress folks here though who might be able to tell me if this works (are you already using this?) or if the page sounds like it works great.

So, what does it look like to you WP developers?

  • @supereb Hi E. I wouldn’t use it yet. It’s not in the WordPress Plug in directory. I have a rule that every plug in I use has to be vetted by WordPress before I’ll use it. Right now I can’t see the reviews or the challenges this plug in has.

  • @supereb

I hadn’t heard of it and it looks pretty slick. If you do end up using it I’d love to know. Love the a/b split testing bit.

  • Hi @rich-brooks —

Just in case you recognize the names — OptinSkin was created by Glen Allsopp and Graeme Boy on location in Cape Town (South Africa) and Iowa (United States).

AND if you get this and use it, please let me know how it works for you.  I keep going back and looking because it looks SO GOOD.  Plus they have an affiliate program and that is always an attractive addition. ;)

  • @supereb This definitely looks interesting.  I’d be interested in knowing how it works too.

  • @supereb Haven’t installed this yet but its definitely on the list! Heard about it through pat flynn’s Smart Passive Income blog as he uses it and wrote a great review of the plugin. I also read the developers blog ( Glenn Allsops’s Viper chill) and the guy seems to know what he’s talking about :) he’s a very highly respected internet marketer. Hope this helps and let us know how you get on.

  • Must admit, that looks pretty swooft! But $67? Mmmmm… let us know how you like it, Miss E… I do like how you can place an optin on any page/post anywhere… so the sales copy was helpful… but still… $67 for a plugin? Mmmmmm… let us know, lol…

  • It’s quite good. I have it and use it on most of my sites. Great to add nice looking forms in your sidebar and you can also place it wherever you like in your posts via shortcode.

The great feature I like is the fact changes are made globally, so if you amend the optin text or change email provider etc you only make the change to the one form and it will propagate wherever it has been embedded.

It also comes with a good number of different designs.

    I’d recommend it.

An alternative to look at is http://www.popupdomination.com/blog/sidebar-2-0-update/

Which happens to be free. I still prefer OptinSkin though.
