who are they and where do they hang out….CUSTOMERS (5 posts)

  • .thats a helpful  question  for me….. making  us  think about THEM/THE  BUYERS….  thats  the  ??? i always  have in  mind…. mine  are  ,  adventurous homeowners with money. and  ALSO     indie stores who need    great  fixtures…….  and i need a lot  more  focussed    idea of where they are than just  the internet…. i have  found  3 or 4 places  where they  gather on the internet….but its hard….i need a  small business  forum  full of   storeowners  who need my  store fixtures!!!!  that would  be so  great…..  and what i find when googeling  small business is   lilke here;;;MOSTLY    focussed on  one part or   ones   full of  startup  advice and  total  SPAM..and i already started up…..  ANY  IDEAS  FOR ME??? 

    i know  my  customers arent on here.. but  thats not my  goal  here…

  • Besides New Tractors and implements, like a car dealership, we take in used equipment and implements.  We do direct mail in the local area, however, that’s not enough.  So we subscribe to a couple of national databases that features tractors and implements.  Customers will go there to find a certain type of tractor.

    Additionally we can subscribe to a Combine (the piece of equipment that harvests grain) or Tractor forum.

    Also our website pulls in a lot of business, especially for parts.  An aside, we sell parts for potato harvesters.  People have called us because the same parts are on almond harvesters, carrot harvesters, and the last one was someone who doesn’t “sprigs” plant starters for pasture land.

    You might want to check to see if there are any forums that fit.  Also check to see if there are databases out there that feature what you have to sell.

  • i try  and  check on  forums  a lot…. hard  to find  tho..my  area isnt as   concentrated or  organized  i  guess….we arent  really antiques…  but  i have  gotten some  great   customers  from the few i have  found….

    ..my dh is on an antique tractor  forum  for the old  ford   9ns …they are so into it!!!

  • do you have a way to find out how your now customers found you in the first place? do you have a referral plan? @annfurnivall

  • my  referral plan is   laginappe!!!!….  if  someone  brings us a  good  customer i try and  give a nice little  reward….all face to face  no   organized  plan…. we  find out a lot  by talking  to the  customers…i would  guess that  word of  mouth and  referral  drive a  whole lot of our  traffic….and  when  they hear  about us    they  can  go  to our  web or  facebook  and   see  a  lot, so it all works  together…

    .  how  do  you  find  your customers    dea? do you know  who  they are and  what they like and  where they  hang out?  are  you looking  for any  certain  kind of  customer?     @deairby
