Which CRM Software Do You Use and WHY (6 posts)

  • I have found Insight.ly | Nimble | and Buzz Stream. They all do slightly different jobs but which one would you recommend?

  • @roryramsden Rory, I may not be answering exactly what you’re asking for; however, I have used SalesLogix and now ClearVantage. To me, SalesLogix was a bit unwieldly. ClearVantage seems fairly easy to use for looking up members and pulling lists. The system also has the capability of allowing sales from our website. Oh, and I used SugarCRM briefly while working for a newspaper.

If you’re speaking more to social CRM, you might check out Adam Metz’s The Social Customer. The book is peppered with CRM examples of all sizes. He mentions Buzzient, Jive and Salesforce.

I’m going to follow your topic to see what other SME’ers have to say.

  • I think it very much depends on the purpose of the contact database, from very simple (like WuFoo.com) or more flexible (like Highrise).  I don’t use CRM for sales leads.  I’m using WuFoo to compile a list of my own contractors so that I have them all in one place and searchable.  Highrise is being used to store contacts coming in through a client’s website and periodically export contacts to MailChimp for outbound communications.

Thanks for the input. I guess it’s horses for courses. No one App will cover all the bases

  • @roryramsden

We use Highrise from 37 Signals. I chose it because we were already using Basecamp and found their products to be beautifully simplistic.

Does most everything I want to, although I’ve been considering taking a peek at Salesforce.

Thanks for the feedback Rich. The other service I came across is Ecairn.com. Have you looked at that?
