I am only 1.5 hours from the Grand Canyon. My home is at the edge of the Coconino National Forest, known for the tall Ponderosa pines.
Originally I am from Southern California, a 3rd generation native, but I have left there for good. Funny how you can be successful in one geographic area (for me, Flagstaff) but hit a wall at every turn somewhere else (So. CA did not like me – perhaps because I am and have never been blond, thin, rich, and most certainly do not look like a model or beautiful actress – lots of those in So. CA.) It is great to see that the group comes from so many different places.
