Where do you get your mojo? (11 posts)

  • What runs your motor? How do you keep on keeping on? Where do you get inspiration?

  • @deairby Some days it’s non-existent, but others it comes from reading my feeds. Oh, a tight deadline always works, too. I do find it’s easier to be inspired sometimes by my personal topics, so I try to limit the time I spend on those, and focus at least a 2x on business.

And, when I really can’t get it going, I take a break and go out somewhere–totally not work related. Sometimes I just need to clear my head.

  • @deairby What a great question… For me, it stems from being passionate for what I do. You probably have heard, or seen, about Steve Jobs’ commencent speech at Stanford University in 2005? Well, I agree 100% with the premise that if you do what you like, you’ll like what you do. But if every morning, you can’t look at yourself in the mirror, or find you are counting down the days until retirement, then…

Mojo also comes from supportive friends and family, who will remind you how beautiful you are when you need it most! ;-)

  • @deairby Great question…

    Two main places:

    • Helping people (as tacky as that sounds) – I get a real buzz from it!
    • Reading – I read a lot and it inspires me all the time.
And, when I have an off day – my wonderful wife. :)

PS And, yes, I am playing around with the formating.

I get mine through the enormous amount of reading I do. I have found the many of the questions I have are the same ones my audience has. Sometimes, people ask questions that bring about blog articles.

Your topic may end up being a new blog entry for me in the near future.

  • go blog it! @donpurdum

    • Kundalini Yoga (a particularly energizing style of yoga)
    • Meditation
    • Folk music (singing and playing, still have that 1960′s hippie inside me)
    • Being of service

  • @donpurdum Indeed, this topic would make for a great blog post. You do yours in English, and I’ll have my take on it… in French. :-)

I also agree that books are great tools to get the mojo going – lots of inspiration when you read and learn best practices, epic fails, and what can be done about them both.

  • @deairby  – I think I will and I’ll give  you full credit in it for my inspiration!!!

@fredericgonzalo- sounds like a plan. French is such a beautiful language!

  • @donpurdum @deairby Yup, always give credit where credit is due! Will do as well… en français, bien sûr! :-)

  • maybe you guys are my inspiration! thanks @donpurdum @fredericgonzalo
