What should we tweet in business? (6 posts)

  • I have made the following list of tweets and kinds of tweets appropriate to business

Can you add one more – the best you can think of?  (Answering other tweets etc is obviously important but here I want tweets that start the fabled social media ‘conversation)

    ·         New blog entries ” ‘Wedding destinations – the photographer’ Check out our new article on making your big day”
    ·         New Youtube promo films “A message from our CEO”
    ·         Requests for information – invitations to participate in online poll “What colour would you like your fridge?”
    ·         Start a contest. “Win a holiday for four at any one of our Spanish resorts.”

  • @jon-hartley We tweet about our members and partners; snippets from our members-only webinars; and anything Apple-related.

  • @jon-hartley If your company sends volunteers, provides equipment or food, or matches donations to a particular charity, tweet about it.

  • I wouldn’t follow a business that tweeted constantly on many of the things on your list. It seems to be largely inhouse stuff or self-serving—if not outright advertising. The organizations or individuals I follow provide something of interest or inspiration to me at least 80% of the time.

  • Hello.

I post articles from around web – and a few of my own at times – BUT I never just do biz tweets that are self-serving.

I share more of others posts through re-tweets too by utilizing paper.li – I have ten papers that range in subjects and through those, I introduce my audience to a lot of people interested in the same subjects – NONE of the papers are about SEO, Social Media, or Web Development. They are interest specific – Here is the Buddy Bulletin Newspaper List Page – my website that lists all ten papers.

I also do the “Tweeted Times” and lots of folks jump on that one too.

As a member at Mashable I have some auto tweets from there on a regular basis.

It’s funny – I’ve had a lot of requests for business information from folks at Twitter even though I don’t do much real advertising there.

I just share a lot of different items.
