What is your approach on getting reviews? (3 posts)

  • Recently, our business has been debating reviews and where/how to get them. We are discussing the option of putting a “Review” or “Testimonial” tab on our website and allowing people to post reviews right there. Or I’ve seen some businesses have links at the bottom of their websites that take visitors to another review page, like reselleratings.com etc. Which is the better option?

What is your opinion on this?

Why do one or the other? I would consider doing it on your website, and find sites where your audience is at and make yourself available there as well.

  • Ask satisfied customers for their testimonials (and permission to share on your Web site, your LinkedIn profile, and/or in marketing material). Place a “Review” button or tab on your Web site if you want to random people to rate you (this could include your competition). Better yet, send bona fide clients a link to an anonymous survey (set one up for free at SurveyMonkey.com) where they can include their name only if they want to.
