@cherylgnad Try a “numbered” list of something–and relate it to an upcoming bigger thing you want them to attend/try/buy for further engagement. Then it is somewhat progressive. But the quick freebies tend to work pretty well. Mix it up from time to time and offer a recording or a quick video link, so you test what works well.
The object in my opinion is to build a list of somewhat interested people and nurture them until they are ready to buy. If you remember that not everyone will buy from you, you should be OK. But it’s not always instant money in the bank.

@cherylgnad I agree with @joanmuschampfagnani.  Example:  to presell a book, offered free eBook which was the first chapter of the book – opt-in to build the list to market to about the book prelaunch – free audio podcasts are good – free whitepapers, free replay of webinars, etc.
