What Do Your Keywords Look Like? (7 posts)

  • So, this is kind of cool.

I downloaded the top 500 keyword phrases (provided by Google Analytics) that drove traffic to our site last month and threw them into Wordle to give me a better sense of the overall themes that were attracting traffic to flyte.biz.

I figured that would help me amalgamate some of the “long tail” searches.

While there were no major surprises, it was interesting to see what the main concerns of my site visitors were in such a visual fashion.

So, if you’re interested, just export your keywords from Google Analytics and copy and paste them into Wordle.

Then, if you’re up for sharing, post them here!

  • Great idea, @rich-brooks! I just went into GA for my keywords and noticed there is a Term Cloud button that shows the keys words and bolds the top one(s). However, it is not as cool looking, though!

  • @rich-brooks Thanks for the idea…what a wonderful image that would make for a blog post about keywords :)

  • @ptwylie Working on it!

  • @karenataylor

Definitely not as cool, and because so many different searches may drive similar traffic to your site, I don’t believe that adds any insight over seeing your keywords in a list.

  • @rich-brooksso cool! I want one! One could use it as their Facebook cover pic!

  • @rich-brooks funny thing I was just on Wordle today and put in our blog and  @amyhallbiz yes using for now as my facebook cover seems to throw in anything from the blog tho not just tags .. so may have to enter manually http://www.facebook.com/karenblackzimbabwe
