What are your thoughts on Chris Guillebeau’s ”The $100 Startup”? (7 posts)

  • I just recently completed Guillebeau’s latest book and love it, but I just wanted to get your thoughts on it if you’ve read it as well. What are your takeaways?

  • I am half way through the book now.  I am enjoying the case studies Chris presents.  He really communicates the subjects of the case studies are normal folks who just started taking some action.

  • thanks for posting this, I don’t think I am familiar with Chris. Will look him up. @mellissathomas

  • No problem, Dea. If I may, here’s my latest blog post, which reviews and provides a primer of the book. Let me know what you think. @deairby

@egaile Ed, the case studies are indeed inspiring. He managed to interview 1,500 ‘treps – that’s a whole lot of people. Bless his heart for effectively distilling that much data in three years into the book.

  • @mellissathomas Wow Amazon says 234 reviews and a 5-star rating. My philosophy is that there’s no quick/short route to success and success only comes with hard work and dedication (which is hard to do when raising a family). But I think even me, Mr. Skeptical, will check this out. Disclaimer: no, I am not endorsing or anything and get no kickback or rewards from this.

  • @mellissathomas That is quite a detailed review! Now I’m definitely adding that book to my must read list.

  • Thanks, Lily! I’m glad you found it helpful. It’s a pretty good read. @bcbsmedia

Glad you’re willing to give it the time of day, Rob. I’m a bit of a skeptic myself, but I gave it a read, and it wasn’t a waste.

And no worries on the disclaimer – I get no kickbacks, either; I’m no affiliate. @robmitchell
