What are your goals in joining SME Networking Clubs? (13 posts)

Curious to hear your thoughts as to why you joined SME clubs. I joined while it was still in its beta phase, during the Holidays, and it’s been tremendous help with rich discussions, great networking and all-around awesome social media content.

I joined to learn, help and connect with like-minded individuals. So far, it’s been a blast, a great source of resources and information, and I’ve been able to lend my expertise and help out a few individuals along the way!
Im enjoying the clubs thoroughly!

My reasons for joining were similar to @melissaagnes. I too have garnered tons of information since joining and hope I have given some back. It definitely is a great resource and great people!

I joined to learn, and that goal has been MET and EXCEEDED. I have booked more consulting wok because of what I have learned here. Online, written conversations suit my learning style. THANKS TO ALL!!!

@fredericgonzalo Initially it was professional curiosity, which very rapidly became real information sharing and learning. Actually ao much so that I have to tear myself away at times to get real work done!

I joined because I had gambling debts to @mike-stelzner no honest man could pay, so he put me to work as club leader.*
However, I’m glad he did! I’ve met a bunch of really cool people, gotten great answers to my questions, and been able to point a few people in the right direction.
* I know you know this, but that was a joke. It was actually because Mike beat me at arm wrestling.

Hi there,I joined because even though I use SM daily I am still learning. I’m really interested in engagement and starting conversations with fans/followers for my job. Personally I like the technology a lot and love to learn. I’ll answer any questions that I can.

@rich-brooks LMAO! That’s fantastic. @fredericgonzalo I grabbed a beta spot during one of Mike’s webinars. I knew that it would be good based on the daily blogs (love Cindy King’s weekly summaries). I would second @debbielynnava‘s statement. And as a non-Zynga player, I like the points aspect too

im hoping to   hear from other brick and mortar   businesses and hear how they are using   social media….we do a lot on web, blogs and facebook and pinterest ……
whats really working   in other stores   would be great to hear as well as    tales from a business who serves stores.
ive b een online for years and have a lot of facebook followers so im not too interested i n the getting   started stuff…

Thanks for posting the question @fredericgonzalo! It is already providing great discussion. I also joined during the initial beta launch through one of Mike’s webinars and have been engaged ever since. I have gained such great knowledge from the topics as well as being able to help others in their Social Media engagement.
I enjoy sharing my experiences and articles I find helpful in starting conversations and gaining input from fellow campers. The contacts and networking I have done through the clubs have been absolutely priceless as well!

Well, message boards are my thing – I’ve been using them for 15 years or so. So when my FAVORITE social media site started the clubs, I was thrilled! I’m just ashamed to admit it took me a bit to actually sign up.
It will be my go-to place when I have questions (like today I started a Tumblr blog and came here to get some insight) and hopefully I will be able to share some things too.
