Wefollow? (12 posts)

Topic tags: tools, Twitter
  • Anyone using wefollow http://wefollow.com/?

Does this have value to help build your followers in the right topic areas?

  • Seems like a Twitter follower service to see who/what has the most followers. Twitter, while very cool technology and terrific service, is not terribly important in the SEO space, imo. It feels more like a nice to have. I know some companies really rely upon Twitter and that there’s a definite connection between someone’s Klout score and Twitter.

    Hope that helps.

  • I agree with @Rob – all you get with those following services are junk follows; it’s all about numbers.  My opinion is that it’s better to build a community of quality follows/followers…people who are actually interesting to you, and who are interested in you.

  • Agree with Faye…. Best to keep your activities focused on folks who “want” to engage … Thus, build a community-by-invitation and managing it accordingly with whatever tools you use (i.e. FB, Twitter, Tumblr, IM, LinkedIn) …. Less is still more … John

  • As a long time Twitter and social media user (started in 1994), I agree that numbers are not useful, nor are the Friend or Follow services. I follow a number of people that do not follow me back, nor do I care. I am interested in what they have to say.

I use social media to brand myself as the expert in organic SEO, and to help my clients brand themselves as experts in their fields.

Take a look at my article: http://mysearchguru.com/10-reasons-why-i-am-not-following-you-on-twitter

  • @ Anita Cohen-Williams
Hi Anita! We are in the same business!  I love your article – Good on YOU!
I do use some tools outside of twitter however, I depend on the person’s profile and like Anita said – that little pic is a huge clue into what that person is all about.
Folks – Read Anita’s article – I feel the exact same way! Heh. :D

  • @anitacohen-williams I totally agree with your article. I am very selective on who I follow, and don’t follow everyone back.

But, I would like to be found by those in my target market areas when I am fully ramped up and ready to go with campaigns.

  • @anitacohen-williams – I agree conpletely with every point in your article.  Some people just don’t get it…

  • as per your article, thanks for the guilt relief! I DON’T have to follow everyone who follows me. wheewwwwwwww :) @anitacohen-williams

  • @ Dea Irby
Hiya Dea – this can’t be new news to you, can it? LOL – NO, follow only those you WANT to follow.  There is NO obligation. You’re funny (but in a good way.)  Heh. :D

  • LOL @deairby
