using article marketing? how? (7 posts)

  • I recently came across this term: “article marketing.” What a great idea! As I understand it, all you do is write an article with great content. (“all you do” is tongue in cheek) But after you have done that foundational work you find places to post that information -over and over with minor adjustments. This then links back to your site of choice. Can you say “list building”?!!! Anyone else have thoughts or experience on the subject.

  • @deairby article  marketing can be a great tool- it can get you publicity via interviews–reporters are always looking for new sourees. In addition to SEO benefits, you can use SM to promote and help build thought leadership. They can get you invited or more likely to be selected to speak at industy conferences.

If your  articles are somewhat related, you can compile an e-book. Repurposed the articles into other types of content. Would one make the b beginnings of a good webinar? What about an internet radio show?

Just some ideas. Again, if you put this into your marketing plan, then get it on your  calendar. Even better than just a marketing calendar is also to keep an “editorial” calendar so you plan your writing schedule properly

  • thanks, Joan, you always have great advice! @joanmuschampfagnani

Article Marketing was a hot topic years ago. I’d say now that it’s morphed into Guest Blogging.

Same idea, with the blogging/social media spin added in.

I recommend finding influential blogs in your industry (or occasionally in others) that are looking for guest blog posts and try there first.

Google: “guest post” or “guest blog” + “industry” and see what you get.

  • @deairby I agree with @rich-brooks :)

  • @deairby If you write an article that answers a frequently asked question of your ideal client, post the question or hint at the answer in the title, and submit it to one or more article directories, you help people searching for answers find you. If you repeat the process dozens of times for dozens of frequently asked questions in your niche, you can drive traffic to your Web site (or URL of your choice).

  • glad you pointed that out, Rich, because I was thinking it was the same, or nearly the same, thing as guest bloggin @rich-brooks
