Anyone know if there is a way to search for public Twitter Lists? Before starting a List yourself it could be handy if there was a way of searching lists to see if other people had already created a similar list rather than re-inventing the wheel.

I know there are more options but here are two:
Tweetdeck Directory @ http://www.tweetdeck.com/#directory
Search in Google – By telling it where to look, you can search the entire site for a specific tag or keyword. Enter in a sting of words that look like this:
site:twitter.com/*/YOUR TAG
Replace [YOUR TAG] with the term you’d like to find. Click on any link you find to see the list of member tweets.

I like the Google option as if you know the hashtag of what you’re interested in ( i.e. basketball, candles, lingerie, baseball, whatever!) you get a very long list. Of special interest can be things like court cases, brands, competitors brands, etc.

Listorius provides Twitter lists. You can also add lists on the site.

Yep – there are a lot of options actually and Listorius is a good one. I should have mentioned that one as it is really popular.

If you like (and have time) to look for people with similar interests and peruse their lists (the same way you would look through your friend’s lists) you can also look at random people’s lists. Two sites to help you in finding random people are Justtweetit or Wefollow. Both will allow you to search by keyword, category or other options to find interesting people or people knowledgeable in any particular subject you choose.
