Does anyone here know if there is a way to have an artist’s account verified through twitter as the official account for that person? Think Ashton Kutcher, how do we know his account is actually his, and the other similar looking accounts are not? I know this is the facebook club, but you all know so much about social media.

That’s because they were contacted by Twitter directly. It’s like the celebrity accounts on Facebook. 

You can’t have yours verified unless you have a huge number of followers, I think.

@marygreencny Hi Mary, simple rule to get verified on twitter is: you need to be a celebrity/public figure/brand that cause public attention quickly and easily. Means what ever your account is for (be it for an artist/actor/singer or even a company that is a brand in public mind) must be on people’s eyes and tongues. 
To get your account verified, you need to submit a simple application to tweeter on their official account for verification process.
