Tools for finding people on Twitter? (5 posts)

Topic tags: Twitter, wefollow
  • I used to recommend Wefollow, but I find now it’s completely unreliable. I see people who are being considered “relevant” for topics and they haven’t used twitter in over a year.

What tools do you use to find follow-worthy people on Twitter?

  • Hi @rich-brooks

I mostly use hashtags.  I can do the trends thing by looking at tagdef to see what’s currently hot and follow the folks – if I want too.  I’ve used a lot of tools for twitter over the years (there are about a gazillion out there) but I find that containing myself more to twitter itself and learning the tools makes for a better experience all around.

Thanks. When I posed the same question on Twitter someone suggested Hootsuite. Apparently you can search and get people’s Klout scores as well.

Not that I’m a fan of Klout, but it does mean Hootsuite does more than I thought it did.

  • HI @rich-brooks

I do have HootSuite (paid version) but don’t use it that often for other than postings.

  • There are so many different tools you can use to find people (as well as encourage engagement etc.)  I wrote a blog post on 101 of the best Twitter tools here (I hope it’s OK to share this link, apologies if not)
