Time Management Tips (17 posts)

  • Hello Everyone.

If you are like me, it is the time to think about time: how I’ve used (or misused) it in 2012, and what I would want to do about it in 2013.

I just read this article and liked the time management tips it contains.  I’m sure we’re all familiar with them.  Let’s see if some influence our goals for a productive 2013!

Read it, clip it , save it, share it!

  • @rachelagheyisi  Thanks for posting the article.  Becoming more efficient is on my list of goals for next year and I just go the Get It Done Task App and started using Evernote.  Both are really amazing.

  • @stevecurran Good for you, Steve! Since we can’t extend the length of each day, we can at least try to make the most of it –and still have a life!

  • Great tips Rachel – thanks for sharing.

I read a great tip the other day about time management. It said… “We can’t manage time, but what we can manage is our activities.” :)

  • @glenandrews THAT is a great way to state the quest! Thanks for sharing, Glen.

  • I was just joking about this today, I don’t have time for sleep lol!  It’s an inconvenience, and I could be doing so much with that extra five and a half hours.  Thanks for posting that link, I am trying to get myself on a more prioritized day, I think it will help out a lot, and give me extra time :)   Thanks again!

  • @kim-gooderham-porty The sobering truth is that you are not alone! We all could improve on something. Hopefully 2013 is the year we (really start to) do it!

  • @rachelagheyisi   I think a daily checklist is the only thing that works for me, I just have to do the priorities first and then break it down, am I the only one that finds there is just always soooooo much to do :P   LOL

  • The best advice I’ve ever received about time management came from a Dave Ramsey book. As usual it’s very simple and common sense advice. Always take the first 15 minutes of your day to plan the outcome. Make your daily to-do and stick to it unless you absolutely can’t.

    Simple, but effective.

  • Hello @punchbugindy

Good Advice – I take the last part (10-15 minutes) to plan tomorrow.  It feels like I start fresh each day with my list. As the day wears on I add anything new that comes up, for tomorrow or schedule for a later date.

  • @punchbugindy @supereb @kim-gooderham-porty I am a die hard list maker. A friend of mine once joked that I should invest in 3M shares – on account of how much of those post-it pads I use on a regular basis (I use my date book to track longer term chores). Lists keep me focused and accountable. There’s also the feeling of achievement as I cross off each accomplished task.

The downside is sometimes my lists grow arms and legs and start to get away from me — which brings me right back to the underlying issue of time management! It’s a struggle!

  • @rachelagheyisi Thanks for sharing this.  Very useful.

  • @dianebianchi My pleasure, Diane. I’m glad you found it useful. Please pass it on!

  • Thanks for the good tips.Hope to use the tips to generate my time and website
    thanks again

  • @kumphu You’re most welcome.

    Best regards!

  • One of the things that boosted my productivity happened when I got married a few years ago. I cancelled my cable subscription. I still have the Internet (obviously). Believe it or not, you can live without the Kardashians.

  • Great topic!
I’d like to add something else from my own experience.
Trello.com is a great tool I started using like 3 months ago and has created a great impact on my working routine, keeping me organized.
