  • Facebook doubtlessly rocked the 2012 and no doubt will keep continue the rocking party next years too. But with the launch of its so called no. 1 rival Google+, there has been big talking around the web whether facebook will sustain its user base or not. Of course there will be seen some shift towards google+, but facebook at my point of view will sustain its loyal base of marketers.

The war has just been sharpen with google+ rolling out google plus brand pages for business.

    What do you think?

  • @moinshaikh

Years ago I was told it was time to give up my Mac and get with the game plan: Windows. Since almost everyone used Windows and had a PC, it was hurting my business to be Mac based.

    Luckily, I ignored them.

The point is, who cares which is bigger? Competition between platforms is good for you and me, as it forces both companies to do a better job at building tools.

But, just because FB is bigger, doesn’t mean that for some businesses G+ won’t bring in more business (or LinkedIn, or Twitter, or YouTube, for that matter.)

Platforms will evolve and change, and you shouldn’t become too beholden to any one. Otherwise, you might end up using Lotus Notes when everyone else has moved onto Outlook or Gmail.

    Good luck in 2012!

  • @rich-brooks, definitely rich, you are right, just because someone is bigger doesn’t mean is stronger. After all, a niddle does what a sword can’t! But i only wanted to figure out what impact facebook will see with google+ pages (and twitter brand pages soon to come) coming to market. Will it change/improve its interface or any features or will it make any other strategical changes?

And also i didn’t mean google+ is smaller than fb, because we all know that facebook belongs to facebook inc, while google+ belongs to Google Inc, the (god) father of today’s internet :)
