  • I got yesterday the new Pinterest Weekly on my email, they send me several boards, about 8 , that if they didn’t send them, probably I never had a chance to look at them.

And today I have several repin of my pictures and several new real followers.

My account had been a little slow on the past few weeks, but at the same time I was using less time on it.

For me, this new service is working, how about you?

  • Yes I believe Pinterest is on the rise, but the more you use it the better it is.It keeps me busy with just pinning lol.

  • do you sign up for it? or does it come because you have boards? @hildaalanisgonzalez

  • @deairby Hi Dea, no, I didn’t sign to get it, it came by itself. They gave me the option to contact them and send some ideas, so first I send them some questions, let’s see how the communication works with them. This is what their message says: “Here at Pinterest… We started this Pinterest Weekly to highlight your activity and share some recommendations. We hope you enjoy it and send ideas about what else you’d like in your weekly here!” But now, I can remember that i send them an email with my first impression when they just changed their layout, about a month ago or two, but I never knew if they got it. For me, this Pinterest Weekly started working immediately.

  • I got it too….interesting…..i liked seeing how the different posts did….. more info on pin reach.. @hildaalanisgonzalez Hilda, pin reach rates you real high! ..you were a top 4 influencer on my report….lol….what are Your pinterest theories?..

  • @hildaalanisgonzalez @ruthann @deairby @annfurnivall  Has anyone gotten any business from Pinterest? Ann I would think this is the perfect platform for you!

  • @annfurnivall, Hi Ann, I don’t have any proved theories yet to share, sometimes numbers doesn’t say anything, 80% of Pinterest users have a score between 20 – 40, 42% are between 30 – 40, so I’m stilll on the discovery process to understand better how to get advantage of it.

@amyhallbiz, Amy, yes I have gotten a very good clients (B2B & institutional sales), all my business is online, it’s easier for me because if they like something, they don’t have to visit me, and what I show on the pictures is what I sale, since they are hand made products. In the first three week when I started using Pinteres (two or three months ago) I noticed a big difference on sales, this year has been better than last year.

  • @hildaalanisgonzalez  my number is  46!!!…i see  you  put prices on some of  your things….what   do you  think about that?  im hesitating…but i dont ship  …im  kind of  afraid of looking too   commercial…

. @amyhallbiz i think  so too, that its  pretty good for my  field….. but it  will probably  be a bit like my  blogging effort….growing   way  far away  from  my   geographical   base….but   thats ok  on this…so many  good  things are coming   to  the store thru  pinterest….

  • @annfurnivall , Ann with 46, you are on the top 8.8% of the users, you have been doing great Ann, and Congratulation also for your nomination!

About puting prices, I don’t see any difference, they are also repin. Shipping small-medium items is not big deal, clients always pay for it, I have had a great experience shipping all around the world, any problem during 5 years.

  • i knew  you shipped….thats  great…i especially  like  your lamps….  well we dont ship for  many  reasons  …not   really an issue  for us….i  get a lot of  visits to the  website    from pinterest  too, so thats   good….if  they are close enough  they probably  come   to the  store…. imho….and  thats  my  goal  besides  just  enjoying it….  .

@hildaalanisgonzalez thanks…. i dont know  how i  got  so high….but my  main  thing  ….rehabbing  stuff….is   a  super  trend  right now…. and i  started out  with   lots of  my  facebook  fans  pinning  my stuff….

i will probably  do the pinreach pro  when it  comes out….just  to see more info… do   you do pinerly?..

  • @annfurnivall , Hi Ann, I’m back on the SM club,  no I do not Pinerly, I’m still on the waiting list :)   but I’m sure I am not going to pay to get more info from my pinterest account, not yet, that I’m still tryng to find time to work on it.

The Onyx lamps are really very unique pieces, nice, elegant, sophisticated and the light is very soft.  I have a nice story from one client, he was in Mexico for vacations, he saw the lamps there (but, it was impossible to bring them by plane because the size and the weight, so he needed to pay extra for the shipping and to cross the border), then, he found me online, and he decided to buy the lamps in my website and not directly in Mexico. And my lamps come also from Mexico.

  • Just as a curios information, here you can find the numbers of the highest score profile with 82       http://www.pinreach.com/user/5927  it’s a nice selection!

  • i saw  that!!!

my  chart  shows a  small slump..i havent  been  on   as  much and  not  finding  enough   that  excites  me,   , which i  hate….  i want to keep  my  quality UP….  and   im  starting to see the  same  great pictures over and  over  but  not  enough  new ones…..i have lots of inventory i  could put on but   my photography  skills   just arent   great….once in a while  but not enough…pinterest has  really made me  realize  the  value of   good  skills in that  department,,,,2 pictures  can  show  the same idea  and  exact item  and one will  just outpace the other   in huge ways, because it was laid out  well and shown  with  a superior photo…..

  • Hi, – 2 thoughts: – Pinterest Weekly? Haven’t seen it, and I’d like to. –
I’m on Pinterest a lot and think it’s great, partly because I’m a designer so pictures are us. Business is a big question. Since what I do is service – web design and design consulting, I haven’t gotten it to work for me yet. It may be demographics, in that the population it began with was very crafty oriented.
    Any thoughts?pinterest.com/mintzwebdesign

  • @margiemintz I’ve started thinking of Pinterest as a way for a business to showcase its design style, show samples of materials, construction capabilities, interest in recycled materials, or other things that can be written about on a website but sometimes need a visual to really communicate.

For my husband’s construction business, I’ve created pin boards that we refer clients to when they want ideas for their deck, pond, bathroom remodel, etc. I make sure to note any features that are particularly interesting, or ways in which a design could be adapted to fit a different use.

For my interior designer friend, I suggested she set up boards for fabrics, furniture, tile, appliances, finished rooms, etc., as well as one called “my style” so she could show customers different options, and how she typically designs. She’s just getting them going so it will be interesting to see how that works for her!

You could do boards showing different website designs, navigation techniques, color schemes, infographics, etc that you could send clients to…then get their feedback on what they liked to help kick-start the design process…

  • @margiemintz OK, feeling stupid, saw the link to your Pinterest page after I posted :) So you’re already doing what I suggested and a whole lot more!!

The one thing I would suggest is to use the description to tell me why a pin is important to you, so as a potential customer I get a better feel for your thought process. For instance on the Social Media Resources, you have a pin described as “Lewis Howes!” OK….what about him? What’s his area? Is he particularly insightful, or do you just think he’s cute? (Totally!)

Color and Light, by the way, is an absolutely beautiful collection of images…

  • Thanks. I agree about doing more with descriptions and I like the idea about design concepts and examples, which I was working on, mostly in my head at this point.
    What’s your pinterest address?
Color and light and my watchwords. Glad you like those.
    best,
    Margie

  • Our construction biz is http://pinterest.com/bedrockcg/. Ron actually talked to a potential client yesterday, and she had pin boards, so the two of them were on the phone comparing pins :) It really helped him zero in on the style she was looking for, so he can go to the onsite consultation with some specific ideas and material samples.
