Social Media Strategy for a Brewing Company (4 posts)

  • Hello Guys,

I run a startup just venturing into social media.

I have a client(a brewing company) who wants me to give them ideas about what they can do online both on social media channels and the internet generally.

Please can you suggest to me any clear path to go with….

    Your response is highly appreciated…

  • Best two places to start are Facebook and Twitter. The key to remember is that the company (or you) needs to keep on top of a social media platform, so you don’t want to jump in everywhere.

Email marketing is also key. If the company has a mailing list – it’s a great place full of customers.

Customers love promotions, rewards and events. And the nice thing about a brewing company is that they tend to have incentives for giveaways.

If you’re interested – there is a webinar Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 10am PST that discusses social media marketing and a few solutions to helping your clients and yourself find success in the online environment.

You will also want to look at the size of their community ie. Facebook, Twitter, Mailing List. If you are starting with 0 – then it will take some time to build. It is nice for fans of the brewery to have a place to chat – hence the FB and Twitter as good opener/options.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks guys i really appreciate it

The trick is to tie any social media or web campaigns back into their business goals.

Are they looking to reach more distributors? Get into more groceries? Promote brewery tours? Sell more beer?

Based on that, using Facebook first, Twitter second might be the best options.

I do agree with @valerie-keys that building their email list should always be part of their business goals. Social media is a great way to engage an audience, but I always want to capture their contact information outside of a specific platform which I don’t own.
    Good luck!
