Social Media Marketing Plan (9 posts)

  • Do you have a written social media marketing plan?  If so how detailed is it?  How many people contribute?  How often do you update your plan?

  • in terms of business plan, I don’t have a dedicated one for social media only; this category is rather included in the dev outsourcing for the few tasks that require a helping hand; from an operational standpoint, I use to plan posts and related structural activities, if any, on a monthly basis and refine them weeklynot sure if this is in line with the kind of answer you were expecting

  • @katrina-cole,

Kind of. We have a “framework” that lists our goals (we have six at this point, and they are fairly specific), what we’ll do to achieve those goals, and how we can measure success. I wrote it, as I am in charge of online marketing for the organization, but then sent it out for input/feedback. So far, we haven’t had the need to update it, as it’s fairly recent, but we do consider it a living document.

Let me know if you want more details :)

  • @daniela-previtali I think it all has to start with a marketing budget. Often, I am confronted with clients misconceptions that digital marketing is free or near free.

I think it very important to have this conversation very early in the relationship before any marketing plans are to be worked on. You need to establish objectives. What is it do they want to achieve?
How much do you set aside for marketing? Fixed costs and associated costs. If blogging how many contributing authors do you need? Remember, today’s businesses need to be publishing companies as well as a running there niche business.
I would like to know how  you are budgeting marketing? Is it by percentage of a base budget or do you have a fixed amount?

  • I do have a specific social media marketing plan for my clients; but not myself. Which now that I have it in writing, I will change that!

It is very specific with the goals we want to reach for each social platform (how many new connections, how many posts and types, reach, etc.) on how we plan to reach them. We make sure they are all SMART goals.

    :) Dawn

  • great question, Katrina @katrina-cole would love to see what you have on paper @dawn-beauvais

  • Great topic @katrina-cole, I also got difficult about social marketing plan. It will be interesting if you can share me your knowledge and your “framework” details @Lukas Pleva. :)

  • I agree this is a great question I never thought of an actual social media marketing plan. I do have a budget in mind but not an actual plan. I would love to see some different examples, also.

  • i have  a plan  but not on paper…. for  facebook…at least 2  posts a day…good pictures…. a fun   image   once in a while….   targeted  albums….

email…. once a month  plus   events…  and thats about it….
