Social Media Management Tools/Dashboards (14 posts)

  • How many people utilize a social media management tool like HootSuite? What’s your favorite and why?

I just got certified with HootSuite and I was blown away by all of the bells and whistles it has. But I don’t like that it’s Twittercentric and doesn’t allow access to Google +…yet. Does anyone know of a management tool that allows G+ management?

  • @amyhallbiz I’d like more info on your HootSuite certification. I only scratch the surface and use it in a fairly basic way so far.

It does allow me to easily track some things for clients that help me add value.

Interested in this topic. I used to use TweetDeck, but found HootSuite easier/better at the time I switched mid-2011

  • @amyhallbiz I recently began using HootSuite and moved away from TweetDeck. I am a HootSuite Pro user and find it extremely easy to use and post from. Currently only HootSuite Enterprise users have access to Google+ integration but I am also anxiously awaiting the addition for Pro and Standard users! You can put in a request for Google+ integration at http://library.hootsuite.com/forms/google-plus-application-request/ as I have done. I am really hoping it happens soon! For right now I am primarily using Hootsuite for all the other postings (other than occasional retweets) and logging into Google+ pages outside of Hootsuite and updating.

  • Hi @amyhallbiz
I started using HootSuite just a few months ago. I think it’s an excellent tool for managing multiple social channels. I have been considering getting certified with them but am not sure how it works. Is it a single payment? The courses are on video? How long does it take to be certified?
if you help me with these questions I’d appreciate it.

    Fernando

  • Hootsuite is my all time favorite for twitter and faebook pages, although I agree they need to add Google+. G+ has an iPhone app but I don’t know of any dashboards that can manage it. You can add a Google+ tab to your Facebook page with Lujure (Lujure.com). If thing else, I hope this is helpful :)

  • I am using hootsuite irregularly. It seems like a great way to stay on top of things but has the danger of making interaction mechanical and not personal. How do you keep the personal touch in it? @joanmuschampfagnani @amyhallbiz @fernandocortes @sgsrecording

  • @deairby I use Hootsuite regularly for general posting but in order to keep a personal touch I try to log in through the applications themselves at a later time in the day or every other day to repost, like, or comment on a related post or share something from a company/school in a related area that would benefit followers. This builds better relationships with those companies who tend to reciprocate while also providing additional information to our followers.

  • thanks for the input, Alexandra @alexandrabriggs

  • @amyhallbiz I too use HootSuite. I am an especially heavy user of the mobile app, which is the main reason that I use the service. The scheduling component is attractive to me when I do not want to retweet too many tweets at once. Also the scheduling works for sending out content to hit the different time zones, as I have followers all around the world.

  • Big fan of HootSuite and am currently subscribed at the pro level.  I am also a graduate of HootSuite U so I am “certified”.

I have to say that I think I was among the first to complete the program and at the time it was not the greatest – perhaps, and hopefully, it has come way up since.  @amy_hall – care to share some further thoughts on how HootSuite U is these days?

That said, I still am a big fan of the actual application - what I like about HootSuite in particular is that they are never standing back on their heels – they are always pushing the product forward and really considering what the user needs are.

  • @amyhallbiz I think if you have multiple social media sources (like most people and businesses should) you absolutely need it. I use Hootsuite. I find it is the best and easiest. I only wish it had google plus as well.

  • @fernandocortes  I spent 1 day and went through all of the video modules and got my certification. I got a free month of HootSuite University when I purchased my HootSuite Pro. I don’t know if it’s worth the monthly $26.95 for the university.

  • @deairby  I only use HootSuite to schedule posts. I don’t watch my assets through HootSuite. I RSS feed posts from blogs with HootSuite. Posts that are links to other site article I schedule via the Hootlet.

@davidgadarian  I love how they are always innovating!!!
