SMM Outsourcing (3 posts)

  • Hi,

I’ve developed a SMM plan (which ultimately includes social selling) based on what I learned from the Social Media Summit,  reading Chris Brogan’s book,  and from my friend Jesse Stay.   However,  I don’t have the time right now to execute the plan.  Has anyone (small businesses)  hired or outsourced the effort to someone (e.g., overseas)  to help them with this?  I’d love to get tips.

  • Hi @dwillden,I’m on the side of being a social media manager so I can offer tips from this viewpoint…

I think it can be very beneficial because the work is focused when outsourced. If you are clear on your goals and strategy, it can be very effective because their time working for you should be spent solely working towards these goals rather than having the inevitable distractions and numerous other tasks of running your business impeding your strategy.

Just make sure that you have a clear, written understanding between you and your social media manager of your goals, values, and procedures to achieve results that are aligned with your company’s mission.

    Good luck!

  • @dwilldenYou have to execute. not following through is like beginning a comment and only
