SME Clubs – Suggestion(s) (4 posts)

  • Morn’n Folks.

Every now and then we have been asked if we have suggestions for the clubs.  I have not seen that question for awhile but after hanging around here for a year I do have one.

I’d like to see “page views”  for each forum topic (each thread).  Forums of old always had this magic little number and I did not realize how much I depended on seeing it until recently.

So, what I am curious about is how many people view the subject matter.  We have a lot of folks who post but as always there are many who come to read and learn only.

My suggestion and request is for “page views” – that little number that shows us that when we spend time answering questions we have an interested audience wider than just the number of folks who post.

    Comments or other suggestions?

  • That’s a good one, @supereb!

Any other suggestions on how we can make these clubs more valuable to YOU?

  • Hiya @rich-brooks

No Rich – that’s pretty much all that came to mind and I’ve had it in the back of my brain for quite sometime.  Unless of course, a steady paycheck would come down the pike at some point.  ;)  Heh.

I don’t know what’s possible with Buddy Press so don’t know what might be available.  And of course, the WP wizards among us can pretty much do anything.

The page view numbers would add value to these clubs as it would be an indicator of traffic. As the number of members grows we may see an explosion of new questions arise that may draw even more folks into the fold (so to speak).

At the end of the day, this type of endeavor is, ultimately, about the numbers not only for the principal elements involved but for everyone.

I suppose it depends on how much the SME folks want to expand and this has already been suggested before — more clubs.

Social Media as we know is very fickle.  But Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn seem to be pretty solid and may be here to stay (at at least for the foreseeable future) and adding those clubs might be a really big boost. Particularly G+ and Twitter.

Just throwing this out there again, even though we can discuss these places here in the Small Biz club, it’s not quite the same as having a leader for those places that might have input and guide people in the right direction.

    Just Sayin’ :)
