Slideshare- any suggestions? (11 posts)

  • Is anyone using ”slideshare” for online training/webinars? Is it relatively easy and safe to use?

  • I use slideshare as a free training opportunity for our clients and our target audience. We started analysing the top questions we receive from people on a regular basis and turned them into slideshows.

I also use some of these slide decks as the basis for my webinars and point them to slideshere to download the deck.

    slideshare.net/theartofservice  is our channel.

Must admit that I paused the work on slideshare for a while because it takes quite a bit of work to put them together.

  • I have used Slideshare for distributing ppt’s I have made for business and I have created Slideshare accounts for many clients because it is a great way to create content distribution of powerpoints as well as transforming  them into videos and downloading those onto your Slideshare account too.  And there is a Slideshare app on LinkedIn so you can add your Slideshare content to your LinkedIn Account.

If you are asking about doing webinars with Slideshare, then I think you might be thinking about Zipcast: http://bit.ly/MxY0e7 which is available for free if you have a Slideshare account.  That is where you get a meeting room where you can present your Powerpoints and invite people to join you in the meeting room.  I can’t say I have ever attended a Zipcast presentation or given one, but that might fit your needs.  Most people I know prefer to use webinars to do teaching and training and the cadillac of those is Go To Meeting:  http://bit.ly/Pf5Cnx

  • @trudy @dcoville001  If you want to do webinars like the type on Go To Meeting there is a great, inexpensive alternative … Meeting Burner  They are awesome! and I have a free account that does everything I need.

  • I’ve had the same question as @trudy and all these suggestions are great.  Thanks!

  • @ivankamenken @dianebianchi @amyhallbizbThanks for the great suggestions and I will follow thru with investigation.  I also remembered that there is freescreensharing.com.I need to look into it as well.  It is part of freeteleconferencing.com  which I have use a lot over the years.

  • @trudy  - for screen sharing I use join.me which is free as well I believe

  • @ivankamenken @dcoville001 @dianebianchi  Thanks Ivanka for the join me suggestion.  It looks pretty simple. So I have 5 to check out more closely. Joinme.com, freescreensharing.com, meetingburner.com, slideshare.com and Go ToMeeting. You all rock!  Thanks so much.

  • Trudy, thanks for asking this question. Great info! @trudy

  • this thread is chock full of good stuff. thanks to @trudy for posing a question that I didn’t even know I needed an answer to. Thanks too to @amyhallbiz for the excellent advice for an alternative to GoToMeeting.

  • An alternative I would suggest is  https://ruzuku.com/. Not a free solution like Slideshare, it does have several advantages.
