I find LinkedIn to be a great platform for business networking and learning more about potential clients. It was recently suggested to me that I create a LinkedIn page to get more business. As I’m now an independent contractor, I’m wondering if that’s really necessary and if people would take a page like this seriously.
Thoughts?

I’m not sure how much additional business you would get out of a company page that you wouldn’t get from your personal profile.
LI is definitely trying to improve the functionality of those company pages, however, so this may change.
I’m actually knee deep in research into a LI & SlideShare webinar I’m putting on at the end of this month, so if I learn something that makes me change my mind, I’ll definitely let you know.

Hiya, @Rich Brooks! Yeah, I’m still on the fence. I don’t see the need to start a page, to be honest, but if it couldn’t hurt, it couldn’t hurt.
