Quick opinion sought please – Mail Chimp vs. AWeber (8 posts)

  • Are Mail Chimp and AWeber generally considered to be the most comprehensive  email marketing applications for small business, or are there better alternatives, for an email list of about 19000?  I don’t have experience with any of the stand-alone solutions.  Your experience and opinion of the pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • @mgoes  If you need to use an API MailChimps is the place for you. Other than that I think both services are about equal for paying customers.

Thank you so much Amy.  I read the information on the sites.  I am going to choose Mail Chimp.  Thanks again.

  • AWeber is mostly used for autoresponders. They do have templates for newsletters, but they are hard to use.

MailChimp is better suited for email marketing, newsletters etc.

    Thanks Anita.

  • This is interesting as I’ve found Aweber much easier to use than MailChimp. It really depends on what you’re looking to do with your ECM. How often are you emailing your list? What types of things are you emailing? Recent Blog posts, offers or coupons?

I was a long time subscriber to Constant Contact, but when I rebuilt my website on WordPress, I switched over to Aweber as it integrated better with what I wanted to do on my site. Good luck in which ever you choose!

  • Aweber has new drag and drop newsletter designs that are much better than mailchimp. Also, you cannot do affiliate emails through mailchimp. Aweber also allows you to design multiple sign up forms which is handy for your website.

  • @innerspacejulia and @casmccullough – Thank you for the information.
