Question on Service: (3 posts)

  • So, I’m expanding my company SEO / SM marketing company.  We are creating 3 tiers of service.

Tier 1 – this has basic set-up and disseminating content (that client already has — so we don’t do the content creation in this level)

Tier 2 – this will have more content creation

Tier 3 – this will be us monitoring/creating/disseminating all content doing the SEO etc.. (Basically doing all online marketing for them)

So my question:  In my first tier we have an up front set up fee — and this is a charge for the time it takes to set up profiles etc…  For the other two tiers, are you supposed to keep a set up or is it called something else??? Or do most online marketing companies even have an up front charge?

  • Hi Devani,

I presume the Tiers will depend on the presence they currently have on the Internet.  Im guessing here

Tier 1 None, possibly a basic website but no facebook, linkedin or twitter or youtube
Tier 2 Some, basic website, with empty profiles for Facebook etc
Tier 3 lots, full website, with irregular content on SM

I think your setup fee will depend on what they have currently on the web.

What will attract a company to a Tier 1 Service and what will they get.

    John

  • Tough question @DevaniAnjaliAlderson…

I am unclear if the set-up is part of the 2 other tiers?

At one time I had “packages” but I found that most clients wanted individualized services so I created an “A La Carte” Package where they could pick and choose what they needed.

I did and still do charge an up front Retainer Fee to get started with the client.
