Quick question.
I was having a discussion with someone who keeps insisting that he/she has to put his Twitter handle (prefaced with the “@” symbol) IN his tweets because were the tweet to get retweeted, say, 100 times, anything past the 2nd RT would not contain information about who made the original post.
I said that’s not true because that’s not how Twitter actually works (to my understanding, at least).
Example: we have user 1, user 2, and user 3
User 1 makes a tweet.User 2 retweets user 1 (the RT shows that user 1 made the original post)User 3 sees the RT made by User 2, but if he also decides to RT it, he’s actually back to RT’ing User 1, not User 2. That is, it’s constantly User 1 who is getting retweeted.
Is my understanding of Twitter retweets accurate?
Thanks in advance!
