Podcasting – or adding audio files to your website (3 posts)

  • My association uses a multi-step process to post MP3′s to each association’s website. I am finding it overly complex: upload the file to CMS, create a blog in Blogger, put through FeedBurner and then add to iTunes.

I don’t know the reasoning behind this process given I can simply post the file directly to our website. It might be due to low bandwidth.

How do you publish your podcasts or audio files? Thanks!

  • @kc_kreative

I think it depends on your end goal.

I believe you can just upload them to your blog, maybe to a category called Podcast if you wish, and have an RSS feed pull just that category and submit that feed to iTunes.

Alternatively, you could post them w/an image as a video to YouTube if you’re really concerned about hosting fees.

  • @rich-brooks Thanks for the ideas. I’m going to follow the past instructions for now in order to post the audio files faster. I’ll speaker with my CTO and Creative Manager about other options, including yours.
