Opinions on InfusionSoft anyone? (18 posts)

  • Looking at InfusionSoft… Does anyone have opinions about its CRM capabilities, email templates, social media integration? Please enlighten me :)

  • @amyhallbiz

We’re in the process of signing up w/Infusionsoft, so no real world studies yet. Rob Hatch who works w/Chris Brogan was telling me about his move to the platform.

What I’m looking for is something like Highrise but that I can send out blast emails AND allow people to unsubscribe on their own.

Infusionsoft appears to fit the bill, even though it’s not inexpensive.

Also am currently reviewing Infusionsoft for my new start up.  They are located just blocks from my home in Arizona and I know several people who work there.  They do have some very talented staff personnel and a great sales team.  Order yourself a demo if you haven’t already.  I have no results to share but they will do so with existing customers in your industry.  Good luck and feel free to share your results if you do use their platform.  Dave

  • @rich-brooks @davejackson6 I had used IS back in 2007and it was very cumbersome and hardly worth the effort. I saw a demo and it seems easy and slick! I’m excited to start working with them!

  • Hi there…I have only just cancelled my InfusionSoft subscription after using it for 4 weeks. Although its a well polished automated CRM system I just don’t currently have a list that’s big enough to warrant the cost. I am able to carry almost all the CRM and email functions using Tags in Evernote and Awebber.I also had some guy called Steven as my” relationship coach” who wasn’t brilliant and lacked direction.I’m certain that when my list is bigger I will sign up again but for the moment it’s it for me.

  • I’ve always thought InfusionSoft was a strong product, but for a much larger business than mine. Not only is it expensive, but it really provides great value when your list is large. When/if I find my business in that arena, I would give it a serious look. Until then, I’ve cobbled together a series of services that are working just fine for me using AWeber, MailChimp, and Evernote.

  • @seth-east Ooooo good info. The one thing I remember about using IS back in 07 is yo really have a clearly defined business plan and marketing model before starting to use it. At the time we didn’t and it was painful.

  • Curious how big of a list does everyone think is considered  large enough  to take advantage of IS?

@charlene-kingston curious why both aweber and mailchimp?

I currently use Benchmark email for managing my list and sending out newsletters, etc…  I get a free 10,000 contact list since I am president of my local MainStretChamber chapter.  MainStreetChamber members do get a 1,000 contact list for free from benchmark email.  Membership at MainStreetChamber is free as well.

  • @vomers I use AWeber for my newsletter list, and I love them. But I have a list of contacts that have not committed to my newsletter and double opt-in isn’t going to happen, so I use MailChimp for that communication.

  • @vomers I think about 10,000 would do. But it”s not necessarily the size of the list that is the issue … it’s more about the automation that InfusionSoft brings to the table. If your business takes a long time from lead to end sale then the automation that IS brings is valuable.

One of the things I hear from all of this is that it doesn’t seem like people on SME clubs are using the type of automation that IS brings in their businesses.

  • @amyhallbiz well since my last post the IF experience has soured slightly as they are refusing to refund ANY of the £1,000 I paid the, up-front even though I have not used the system and have fully explained why it is not for me at this time. Not only that they have actually stopped returning my calls and emails. Not exactly a great way to treat a small business customer of theirs who was, until recently, definitely going to use them at some pint in the future. My advice…be very sure it’s for you before you pay the up-front ‘Gold’ training package.

  • @seth-east that doesn’t sound like great customer service. Thanks for letting me know.

  • @amyhallbiz I’m in the process of compiling an eBook about Autoresponders & functionality.

I’m on many peoples lists including most of the “Big Cheese” Gurus for mostly research purposes.

We’re all constantly being told that “The Money Is In The List” why is it then that Infusionsoft, along with most of the other players, only have an “Unsubscribe” option for their Clients who are paying a minimum of $199 per month?

Infusionsoft call me at regular intervals both from the States & their relatively new UK office, as they want me to become an Affiliate. I’ve pointed out this issue to them until I’m “blue in the face” but most of the emails I’m getting via them, still only have the “Unsubscribe” option.

I’ve said to them that as a potential Client, spending that sort of money, I would be appalled to find that this option was even available as against “Change Subscriber Options” which allows you to change your email address & or unsubscribe. It takes a lot of time & money to build a list, it shouldn’t be that easy to lose a someone on it!

I’ve found one free option that offers an even better choice, it also allows you to “Pause” your subscription if your inbox is overwhelmed. I’ve told them about this also but thus far no response or implementation.

My main point re Infusionsoft is that it is at the higher end of the “Intelligent” Autoresponder products available & is not necessary unless you have a lot of Upsell/Downsell in your Product Tree Strategy.

I am an Affiliate for AWeber (link on my Profile here) & the add-ons that they have, compared to most of the other paid option Autoresponders are great.

The Rapportive.com Gmail extension in Google Chrome is awesome. You can download this without being an AWeber customer. Please try it out you’ll be amazed at how much info it gives you about your email sender!

Sorry if this post is a trifle long but I felt it important to point out the “faults”.

    Take care,

  • I just signed up for InfusionSoft today after 2 months talking to a sales rep.

    - I got the 6-session coaching package for $1,250US on a 3-month payment plan.- I’m paying around $220/mo, starting from today (I tried to argue that I should only pay monthly fees from launch, so they discounted my ongoing by 10% as compensation).

I started looking at them because I noticed a lot of my favourite newsletters were being sent using InfusionSoft and from people that seemed to have well-oiled strategies, so figured the system must work well.

I’m starting my list at 0 (keeping separate from my usual business list), but have a few grand to invest to see how it goes – I’ll post in here and update once I get it up and going :)

  • We’ve been using Infusionsoft for a while. We are also plugin developers and have written a plugin that enhances Infusionsoft’s capabilities.
The company is not perfect and they’ve made a lot of customer service mistakes. However their stuff does more than most other offerings out there. You can move people between tag sets much more easily than in something like Aweber (where you basically cannot) and not look daft like most marketers do, still sending pre-sales emails out to people who have already bought.
But it is a nightmare to set up properly – and this is coming from a team of people who have built a complex plugin to enhance Infusionsoft.  What I am saying is we really understand how it works and I have to take a vallium before I set up a new campaign.

  • @elizabeth-jamieson That is pretty telling about the service.

  • @amyhallbiz If you need the features of Infusionsoft I would recommend you take a look at Office Autopilot. I don’t use it myself but I know people who have used both Infusionsoft and Office Autopilot and would pick OA.
