Mobile Marketing & Privacy (4 posts)

  • I’ve heard mobile marketing is big & that all companies should have a mobile marketing plan.  Problem: when ever I get a random text from a company, I delete it before even reading it.  I also feel it’s a bit privacy invasive.

    What are your thoughts…?

  • @devanianjali

I get occasional spam texts from random businesses, but no established businesses.

However, I was just reading the the mobile marketing association released official privacy guidelines: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/mobile-marketing-association-releases-final-privacy-policy-guidelines-for-mobile-apps-138042813.html

Maybe it will provide some recourse to you!

  • Thanks so much! I know this will help me and some of my clients!

  • Mobile marketing is huge and most effective where impulse actions are required. For example, redeem code now for discount on purchase or to go to site for something that expires soon, and many other similar types of instances.

Yes, there are privacy/opt-in rules and legal language that should be included with the messages to extend communication. Most mobile marketing companies know what they are and abide by them.

One more thing, mobile works best when part of a greater campaign. Good luck.
