Medical Social Media and Doctor Marketing (6 posts)

  • Came across this video from San Diego’s Sandra Harris on Medical Social Media and Doctor Marketing. Thought it was a great example of how to put YouTube to work at its best and highest use — showcasing your expertise while educating your potential customers.

Nothing showy… but I thought this was very effective… both from an educational standpoint for doctors / healthcare professionals… and as a way to promote herself to potential medical customers.

What do YOU think? Are you using video to educate or update your customers while showcasing your expertise?

I find videos are an incredibly powerful tactic to increasing your online visibility, build trust and drive traffic to a website.
In fact, while I was researching YouTube marketing for a presentation I did a couple years back, I was surprised to see that visitors who came to our website who had come through YouTube (after watching one or more of our videos) were over 700% more likely to fill out our contact form than the average site visitor!!
I also just did an interview with James Wedmore for my upcoming podcast that’s all about tactics to get more subscribers to your YouTube channel. James really knows his stuff and is worth checking out

  • @atlantarobin We are hoping to inject a bit more video in our conference marketing this year. We also plan to record a lot of the sessions to post online afterwards member and non-member access. Maybe the Vine app will work for us during the conference – slice of life. It depends on how the initial kinks get smoothed out of course.

Rich, I’m not surprised by that statistic… 700%… as I’ve found that same phenomena happening on other sites. YT definitely is a booster for whatever you’re trying to promote.

Also agree about James Wedmore… a great resource… more because he self-promotes than anything else. Yes, he knows his stuff, but he’s a much better marketer than videographer, though I understand he’s got the educational credentials to support his guru status. Still… I see him as a resource first… but think any investment in his products would be money well spent only for newbies. His marketing advice, however, is always worth reading.

  • If you want to know about a sites use of video, checkout this little ditty from http://www.pixability.com/ it grades your websites use of video – try it here: http://www.onlinevideograder.com/grader/ It makes use of Youtube’s new API the way it was meant to be. Very impressive and informational now if we can only find a video mapping app.
and remember because Google owns Youtube it values video higher in terms of SEO as much as Facebook places a higher value on images which is why they bought Instagram – I see a pattern developing here

Pixability is an awesome company! Love them! Love their work! Seems to me I recall getting a recent email about their getting out of part of their business… was that the video production end of it? That’s how I met them… as they could supply a local vid crew for low rates and high quality post-production.

And how funny, now that I think about it… as I had a cosmetic surgeon who needed video and that’s how I first first met the good Boston folks at Pixability… which relates back to the medical marketing here, lol.

    Small world… but great company!!!!
