Managing multiple Twitter accounts (13 posts)

  • Has anyone who manages multiple Twitter accounts ever had a problem signing out of an account?  All day today, I’ve been unable to sign out of one account in order to sign into another account, without switching between IE and Firefox.  I’ve never had this problem before.

  • @hollydavidsonc2 The only time I encountered that problem was when I had multiple windows open for Twitter without realizing it. You may want to look into using a free application like TweetDeck or HootSuite to manage all of your posting. You can add multiple accounts for Twitter, Facebook, etc. and post from the ones you choose from the dashboard.

  • I use HootSuite, Socialoomph and TweetDeck to manage my accounts. It’s easier to be able to schedule posts across platforms.

  • Thank you @alexandrabriggs and @flosmwizards.  I am a newcomer to the realm of social media, and I’m finding that the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know.

  • @hollydavidsonc2 This has been a problem today with Twitter! I was trying to create a new account for a client and it wouldn’t let me sign out of my personal account. :)

  • I use Hootsuite to manage my client’s social media profiles. It supports Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. It costs $5 per month for a pro account. You can also have multiple team members on an account.

  • @flosmwizards: Which do you prefer? I have not tried TweetDeck. Is it better than Hootsuite?

  • @claramathews In my opinion Hootsuite is better.

They are free or very cheap, they cover a larger range of networks and they are improving their services all the time.

A great product and a great company.

  • @claramathews I prefer Hootsuite as well like  @russellallert. The dashboard is very easy to use and they are always improving upon their services. I liked Tweetdeck but made the switch to Hootsuite and haven’t looked back. Additionally, I am hoping that Hootsuite is going to be the first to offer Google+ to all users. Currently only Hootsuite Enterprise users have Google+ integration. That is something I am eagerly anticipating and I submitted my “request to add Google+ to dashboard” request through Hootsuite a while back!

  • For my clients, it’s Hootsuite. Each client has their own account. For myself I toggle between Tweetdeck and buffer.

  • I also use Hootsuite and think it’s so easy and works like a charm. I also bought and use Tweetadder, which is quite amazing if used properly.

  • @hollydavidsonc2 I had that issue yesterday too. I was logged into my KC_Kreative account (to access the clubs) and I wanted to switch to my work account (ahaa) but was unable for a few minutes.

Also, is there a way to update / upgrade your Twitter account to the new format? My work account is still on the old format and I want to use some of the new functionality.

p.s. I use TweetDeck and HootSuite too.

    Thanks!

  • @kc_kreative I also been wondering about the new format switch. I know the business pages are coming soon for general users and haven’t heard an update on when they will be available for everyone yet. Let us know what you find out!
