@melissaholmes I used to use QuickBooks for years. What a terrific program. I used it for all my data entry, income, expense reports, and even payroll. Its a little finicky at times but it tends to work like a charm.

As far as training, it mostly depends on your background. I’m a software developer, so its pretty easy for me to pickup most software related technologies. 

I did a quick Google search (which includes YouTube) for “quickbooks tutorial” and there’s plenty of hits.

Then Google search for “quickbooks users forum” and I see 2 or 3 places where you can subscribe for free and post specific questions and answers.

@melissaholmes Just curious, which version of QB are you running? Do you run it locally on your Windows/Macintosh laptop/desktop? I ran mine for years on a laptop without a problem. I kept up with the annual updates and it was great. Good luck.

There is an abundance of information on the web about QuickBooks. The challenge is sorting it out and understanding what you need to do so that the program functions optimally for you and your particular business reporting needs. Intuit built some great dashboard reporting tools into QuickBooks 2012. I don’t recommend upgrading each year, but I think 2012 is worth an upgrade. My client files are hosted. There are a lot of advantages including anytime anywhere access. Most choose to pay a small monthly fee for a QB license rather than making the investment to purchase the program. It is a very cost effective option and one benefit is that they can always be using the most current version if they wish.

@cindysteed – Hi Cindy!  I ordered Quickbooks Pro 2012 and it should be here today or tomorrow.  I was hoping the Quickbooks would have some kind of ‘manual’ section since I heard the initial setup is tricky.
