little piggie saying ”wewe” all the way to the bank! (12 posts)

  • To attract and keep customers on our websites,we must be customer-focused. I just found out about an amazing tool that can evaluate how well you are doing that! It is call “wewe“. This tool allows you to put in your url and it calculates how many times you reference your self and how many times you reference your customers. You should have at least a 2(the customer):1(yourself) ratio.Check it out and see how you fare.Just for fun, I did SME. Here’ the result:

These are the Customer Focus Calculator results:

    For the url: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com

Your Customer Focus Rate: 64.38% (47 customer-focused words)

Your Self Focus Rate: 35.62% (26 self-focused words, and 0 mentions of the Company Name)

You speak about your customers about 2 times as often as you speak about yourself. Excellent!

    Aren’t you proud, Michael? @mike-stelzner

  • @deairby Very cool resource!

  • @deairby

    Interesting :)

  • very nice

As we all know people are tuned into one radio station WIIFM   What Is in it For ME.

  • thats great, but what are the self focused words and what are the customer focused words? What to do to improve your score?

  • Cool, thanks for the information.. Testing out to see what it shows.

  • @deairby Great info, thanks!

  • @deairby A very fun thing! How useful can those number be, exactly? Just wonderin’ – Heh.

  • of course the Wiser one asks this question! not sure…@jasonwiser

  • @deairby i didn’t see anywhere that took you to the next step. improvement. This information, though interesting, is of little value if you are not told by what terms that are defining the score.

  • I think it is by the use of “you” (or the like) and “me” (or your business name) @jasonwiser

  • @deairby Cool tool, Miss Dea. I checked this out on a couple of my sites.

One was 30/70% and the other was 70/30%. I was relieved to find that the one I wrote all the copy for was 70% you focused. The one I hired others to write or was guest-written was 70% I focused.

This data-driven feedback has given me very useful feedback I can utilize. I’ll now make sure to clarify my writers’ guidelines so they edit their copy to reflect a consistent “you” perspective when writing in first person. YOU know what I mean? Whoda thought their wewe would turn out to be such a handy writing assistance tool?
